JW believe that Jesus is gods son.Not equal to god,but his first of all creation,and his son.The 144,000 are chosen from men and women on earth,to serve in heaven with Jesus after Armegeddon.I think thats the basic explanation.STP

Would you rather be a sports star or a rock star?
by Dustin ini was thinking the other day, if i could choose to be an awesomely gifted basketball player, or an awesomely gifted singer/guitar player; which would it be?
in the end i decided i'd rather be a rock star.
better parties, and definitely more of a bad boy image.

Classism in America?
by under74 ini recently had an experience at school where i felt like the one odd poor class in the room.
the conversation started with homelessness and then gravitated to poor people in general.
there were a lot of weird and false assumptions laid out like "those people walk hunched over" and " they" .....well you get the picture.

THE INFORMATION AGE AND NEW JW MARKETING CHANGES
by seven006 inlately on this board there has been a couple of threads that show how much the watchtower is being effected by the open communication of the internet and web sites like this one.
they are changing long time policy and trying new ways of getting their religious product to the market.
no longer do their leaders hear the voice of god and then pass it directly on as unwavering guidance to their customers.

thanks for your response pole.I only continue to talk religion ,because I feel it has a destructive influence on people in general.I only can relate my personal pain and strangeness from growing up in the controlling jehovahs witness cult.I believe people should look inward,not outward,at how to go about changing things.I don't think you need some questionable book of fables to justify doing whats right or wrong.I appreciate your opinion.best of luck in your endeavors.

I read somewhere on the Internet they want to ban religion! Is that true?
by inquirer ini didn't take much notice of it at the time, but i use to be apart of message board (jw one) and the webmaster provided a link to a web page.
i read it a little, and didn't take much notice of it at the time and thought it was corks.
but can anyone provide any links concerning this?

Guarding the platform at assemblies and conventions
by bronzefist incan anyone tell me why this practice was stopped.
i was told the reason for the guards was to prevent apostates from "attacking" anyone up there and disrupting the program.
has anyonne witnessed an "attack" of apostates gone wild?

Thats hilarious ip sec.I was just thinking how self important these brothers giving talks at assemblies think they are.It so funny how when you were younger ,you'd think you were cool if you were hanging around with some prominent brother.Oh ,god,it makes me sick just thinking about it.Those assembklies were horibble,everyone idolizing these men by proxy,with thier own little set up power structure.Remember the elders meeting they would always have after the assemblie,and mr.humble brother had to do all the cleaning.As if sitting in chair for 7 hours wasn't bad enough as a kid,having to take notes,look up scriptures and be brainwashed all day,then we had to clean up with my parents,while all the elders went to thier clique ass meeting.
There is no way that Jehovahs witness corporation is what god has in mind when they say,"pure worship"

Who needs friends anyways.Human psycology is very strange,it very hard to find total comfort in someone.Theres almost always an angle to work.I have 2 close friends.My younger brother 20 yrs. old,laughs at the dubs with me all the time.Also my old girlfriend,now were like jerry and elaine,the dubs and my parents tried to kill that friendship,and it didn't work.
I'm content to "play the game" with almost everyone else I know.
