i should give some background before the question(s) for you all..... my older brother was born and raised a witness.

left with the rest of us when my mom dad herself although he was the one asking whether or not it was wise---after all the end might come.

he was brought up with the whole women being inferior thing....or in the least there being whores and mothers and nothing else.

This definetly seems like a double standard to me.It is sad that in society in general its ok for a guy to date a younger girl,but not visa versa.Sounds like the religion warped his views on sex,relationships,and trusting anyone.He should not tell your sister she shouldn't date.Why can't he understand that all humans,male or female have needs of every kind.It isn't all about sex all the time for everyone,although that is fun.He souns jaded toward men who aren't JW's.

My father often said to me"aren't you glad your sisters aren't whoring around?'I say,well they should do whatever THEY want to do.Having sex with a boyfriend isn't being a whore,and even if they chose to sleep with multiple people,thats thier decision.

He is a hypocrite with a wrong view of the world.IMHO

Since it is obvious all religion is wrong why do so many believe?

any religion that claims it is the only correct one is obviously wrong.

by it's arrogance it becomes mutually exclusive of any other religion.

when one steps back they can see that the contradiction of one religion over the others is a proof that they all must be wrong.

Ask yourself,if you knew you would die and there would be it,no heaven ,no everlasting life,no 70 virgins,would you still waste your time worshiping a god even if you thought he existed?

People are like a puppy looking for some reward from its master,along with years of being told you need religion,not just god.

I believe its a crutch,and if god was out there,we wouldn't have to go thru uneeded suffering of any form.God is love my *ss.

full blown hypocrisy amongst "christian youths"

i find it funny and sad that children who were raised in the cult resort to full blown double lives,believing that if they go to meetings all will be fine at the big a.. my little sister who is 20,was just heard on the phone the other day by my brother saying some funny stuff.. heres the skinny.my sis has apparently "hooked up " with a "worldly boy".now apparently the kid wont leave her alone.this is what she said to another fine,upstanding christian sister on the phone"i wish i never hooked up with him,i mean ,i had my fun,but now he's annoying me.

{pause}ok,i'll see you at the meeting".. i find it funny because she just told me last week how strongly she feels about jehovah and the borg,but she still wanted to have a relationship with me.i told her " how do you think it makes me feel knowing you believe i will be dead in the fast approaching war of armegeddon "{i thought fornicators and unclean acts and people mixing and becoming unevenly yoked would die to}.apparently not as long as you go to meetings!!.

i pity her,cognitive dissedence,ain't it a bitch.. just thought i'd share.stp.

Do you see the average Jehovahs Witness as a victim...?

i think most of us appreciate the difference between the tyrannical watchtower society and the average sheep like followers who make up the congregations.

we have been jehovahs witnesses so we know how brainwashed they are.

i am interested in knowing how you feel towards jehovahs witnesses individually and whether you hold them accountable.

They are a victim if they have no clue about the truth about the truth.But if there having doubts and continue to put up a facade to save face ,then there stupid and are living a lie.

why do they often seem to be plagued by strange, chronic illnesses - that often appear.

Luna2---I liked your post.I still feel that living on earth as a human is more enticing and makes more sense than going to heaven to me.I don't believe in either ,though.I can see how a religous person would buy it.Reancarnation,heaven,hell,there all just as silly,just some beliefs are more commonly accepted.
