  this post is inspired by a prior thread re 'what to do when you hear about a predator'... .

  for those who may not know, i am a civil attorney whose practice is limited to sexual molestation litigation.. at present, my firm represents a number of abuse survivors who were molested by those in authority in various jw congregations.

  these cases are pending.. in the course of investigating the factual background related to the clients i represent, i have stumbled across a great number of reports of abuse within the context of jw congregations.

  I created this post to keep us informed of potential dangers found on Myspace. Keep in mind that these are just observation and may not be solid facts. We may not know all the details of a given situation. Nevertheless, it would be wise of all brothers/sisters to be "cautious as serpents and yet innocent as doves" (Matthew 10:16).   1) Ive seen in many of the public JW groups [a total of 9] a person called the "Truth" his profile shows him to be an apostate. His whole profile talks bad about Jehovah's organization. And how the Watchtower is wrong... He was on this group but when he posted that same question I looked further... It seems that 'Reid' has been posting the [same] question on many other JW groups. One of the groups even gave him an answer and he still continues posting the same question, on other groups. That's pretty fishy... I just don't understand what he is trying to accomplish by posting a question that is trying to attack the integrity of the Society (WT), over and over again. I'm not saying his not a brother. But the question he continually asks tells me he might have contact with an apostate or tends to read apostate web-sites. Ether way, that is very dangerous for a brother/sister and others on the groups, he belongs to, and so I deleted him.   6) "Your Mama" is disfellowship. Someone gave me a heads up and I asked her and she admitted that she was. She has never been in this group but I have noticed her in a couple of other public JW groups. Don't get me wrong, I pray that she works hard to get reinstated but would that be loving of a disfellowship (who is working to get reinstated) to place others in danger of association with disfellowshipped? Note from Saoirse: Your Mama is a convicted pedophile yet, they are praying for her reinstatement. I notice there are no prayers for the "apostates". They really have their priorities straight.

  7) I'm sure, nobody wants to give Jehovah a bad name. Therefore, we need to do our best to protect his reputation. But, I saw another JW group who had accepted the same, nearly nude, women... this can really be transmitting a bad connotation towards Jehovah's People. Plus, this website also has a disfellowship sister and a couple of apostates, as members of the group. I have written and showed my concern but have not received a response, as of yet. Therefore, I would say this site merits a warning of danger: Here is a list of the JW Groups who have apostates and, some, even have a disfellowshiped, as members of the group. I have written then and so far nobody has removed any of these dangers. I'm still not sure why... If anyone is a members of these groups you risk being harassed like the brother who left all his JW groups [including this one] because an apostate was harassing him.   there was this one woman in one of the groups i saw. it started out as if she was saying something worthwhile, but as u continued to read, she would say some things about the organization, brother rutherford, and so on and so on. it was disgraceful. if i remembered her name, i would post as a warning, but this was a while ago and i forgot it.

  Me too! I noticed that there were apostates at the other groups that I joined that had JW on it! I also had messages (from some claiming to be True Christians) that had a link on it and when I clicked on it, it clearly was an apostate site! I would hate to see anyone being called to attention in the congregation, for a lack of good judgment (flirting with trouble found on the Internet). Therefore, I have made a list of all the JW Groups who clearly are dangerous and for the moment it would be recommendable that all Active Christians wisely flee from" harms way (resign from the group). At least, till these mediators resolve the issues at hand and are willing to continue to keeping harm from taunting our fellow brothers/sisters in the faith.   Ever get anonymous mail from JWs?

  one of my boyfriend's friends gets mail every once in awhile, and it is anonymous... it's usually a watchtower or awake!

  sent in a big envelope, and certain passages are highlighted.

  for instance, when he stopped going out in field service, he got a watchtower with an article about the importance of dedicating one's life to the ministry highlighted, along with some of those articles where there is some person that is about 70 or 80 talking about how persecuted they were for the ministry but how happy they are that they got to share in spreading the good news about the kingdom or whatever.

  Do you think that they would actually take time to investigate and find out who is sending some anonymous Watchtower literature to someone?

  If he was getting death threats or something similar then they would check it out. I doubt they would care about a Watchtower magazine - especially if it had postage on it.

  Just tell him to throw it in the trash and get on with his day. Or better yet, start sending out apostate mail to the local witnesses. They love that.

  Need Advice Regarding Maryland Pedophile Ex-Elder

  i heard some disturbing news and i'm not sure what to do about it.. there was man who was an elder in the pasadena, maryland congregation for many years.

  I heard some disturbing news and I'm not sure what to do about it.

  There was man who was an elder in the Pasadena, Maryland congregation for many years. I'll call him "Randy Pervamini". There were always whispers going around about him that he was secretly gay. He was rather effeminate yet, he was a hardcore, super-dub, fascist elder at the same time. I was in a neighboring hall so my association with him was minimal but I was around him enough to know that he was a jerk.

  A while ago, one of my in-laws told me that they were camping with a friend of theirs, "Bob", that grew up in that congregation. They were all sitting around and telling stories when Bob broke down, started crying and confessed that Bro. Pervamini had sexually abused him while he was a child and that Pervamini's wife knew about it and did NOTHING.

  My husband knew Bob and told me that Bob and his brother both had severe drinking problems. I have heard that the whole family seems to have a lot of problems. We wondered if this was because of the sexual abuse. I am furious that this man's life may have been ruined because of what this elder did.

  A few months ago, I heard that Bro. Pervamini was put on public reproof and removed as an elder. It was rumored that Pervamini had molested a child. It has been about 20 years since the incident with Bob took place. I wonder if there was another victim?

  I've done some research and it doesn't look like the police were ever notified. This man still attends the meetings so I assume that he goes out in field service. This is putting a countless number of innocent children in harm's way!!!

  I am furious that this man just seems to have gotten off with a slap on the wrist. He should be disfellowshipped and thrown in a jail cell.

  So the question is, what should I do? I didn't personally hear Bob confess, I don't really know Bob and I don't want to drag a 30-something year old man through a sex abuse trial. I have moved away and don't really have any contact with JWs in the area anymore. I have also been branded an apostate so I doubt anyone would listen to me if I did say something. The in-law that relayed the story is a JW and is now shunning me.

  I thought about sending out anonymous letters to all of Pervamini's neighbors, urging them to request that they not be visited by JWs. I thought the public pressure might force the local elders to take stronger action. Could I get in any legal trouble for warning Pervamini's neighbors about him? If I report to the police would they be able to do anything? It has been over 20 years.

  This has been bothering me for a long time, I want to do something but I'm not sure what to do.

  In my regular church, toilet etiquette would barely rate a note in the bulletin. But a full-blown TALK?

  I've never heard toilet etiquette discussed in my church. We have 5000 church members and a Christian school next door and there has never been a single sewer problem.

  Why do Kingdom halls have so many sewer and bathroom problems? Could it be the people using the facilities, poor construction or is God sending a sign that the JWs are full of crap?

  i worked for jw doing back breaking work for a while only to be told by another jw that he was ripping me of - he was paying me half the going rate.

  i was only 17 and naive didn't know anything about the world of work.

  My husband once rented a home to a JW family and they completely destroyed it. They even took the bathroom fixtures with them when they moved. He ended up selling the house at a loss and vowed to never do business with JWs again.
