!......no computers or cellphones allowed so i have been awol awhile..... ya, i finally made my self sick enough on booze to realize i was really sick and tired of being sick and tired....so checked myself into rehab without any planning at all and while wife was out of town on a family retreat...it was a a very desperate moment in my life, and i was extremely physically and emotionally sick....i was so desperate i took zero time to reseach where to go, but called an old school friend who said rehab had saved his life and he made the calls and actually took me and helped me check in to the place he went to 5 years ago.

Good job on staying sober .
I agree with chicken little that you should file a formal complaint. The bait and switch tactic that they used misrepresents the God they claim to rely on and most importantly, could be detrimental to someone's recovery. Thank goodness you were strong enough to overcome the bad treatment you received.

saoirse; They made prodictions of dates, these are speculations. They of course were wrong. But there was an awaking to the time of Christ's invisable return by many groups back then. Rather than demean them, they were staying awake to the master's return.
This is in no way linked to being a prophet, that is writing new scrolls, as those early prophets.
Those who go beyond what is written, are not in harmony with what scriptures and prophets wrote long ago. Paul mentioned this, whoever does let them be acursed.
Do you realize that you are contradicting yourself? Talk of a channel completely contradicts the bible. You are following people who are putting themselves in place of Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,Salvation is not found in an organization, it is only found in our Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

We just need to be patient, have a waiting attitude on Jehovah. He really is directing the worldwide brotherhood, organizing them training them in righteousness, and love.
So you're saying that God directs an organization that makes false predictions and reverses their doctrine every few years? Is your God a liar or does He simply not know what He's doing?

1984 Some of that "generation (of 1914)" could survive until the end of the century. But there are many indications that "the end" is much closer than that! (The Watchtower, March 1, 1984 pp. 18-19)

Look at the track record of the WTBTS:

How can one be considered faithful if they repeatedly lie and make false predictions ? I see nothing faithful about that. PJ, I'm praying that God opens your eyes. He loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. No GB needed.

The bible says that Jesus is the head of the church. Period. He is the only mediator for mankind. We do not need a governing body, faithful & discreet slave or Pope for salvation. Sorry PJ, but Jesus has nothing to do with the WTBTS. You are serving men, not God.

To Angel Eyes & Other WT Apologists
by snowbird init has come to my attention that a much-beloved poster on this forum has been hurt by the insensitivity shown toward her account of how badly she was treated by the wt.. i realize this is a place where are all welcome, and barring any posting guidelines violations, we are free to air our views without fear of any backlash.. however, please keep in mind that most posters here - yours truly being one of them - view the wt in a negative light.
with all the evidence out there pertaining to its deceitfulness, how can anyone view it otherwise?.
i reached out to you, angel eyes, because i sense that you need a friend.

One reason I have become disappointed with the current JWN is that it seems that the Reniaas, and x's who enjoy verbal bullying, have taken over the forum. They've set an unpleasant spirit going here.
I agree and honestly, that's one of the reasons that I haven't posted in about a year or so. I realize people have been hurt by the WTBTS but they should direct that anger at the WT and not at other forum members. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone but I believe you should still show respect. Unfortunately, some on this board don't seem to share that sentiment. A mature person can disagree without mocking or name-calling. There is far too much of that on this board and I'm afraid it may be discouraging to some members & lurkers. I've noticed that some of the more moderate posters aren't around anymore and I wonder if they have simply gotten discouraged by the angry tone of the board.
I'm going to try and say this as kindly as possible so please don't take offense. I only have the best of intentions in saying this.
I feel like some here aren't getting the most out of their life right now and have spent far too long being angry and bitter. Yes, we were mistreated by the WT and some anger is justifiable, but a some point you should try and move on and create a new life for yourself. There is no reason why you should continue being a victim of the WTBTS! I see some on this board that log on everyday, insult people and spew bitterness & hatred. You may think that hurting others and mocking other beliefs makes you feel good but the truth is you are only hurting yourself. When you are full of hate, it colors everything you do - your job, your relationships and your whole outlook on life. When you are constantly negative, people don't want to be around you. I truly believe there are some on this board that could benefit from some professional counselling. In fact, I think everyone leaving the JWs should seek counselling. A good counsellor could help you to work through some of these issues and give you the tools to live a happier life. Please consider it. I would really like to see everyone on this board living a full and happy life.
