My favourite version of that song is by Judy Collins. My jw friend was never into music-one more thing we don't discuss much about. It was the best part of my teenage life. Ah the 70's.

Being raised a JW, I was never exposed to gospel type music. Enjoyed Elvis' tunes. But I have to say that when I hear "Amazing Grace" played on a bag pipe or by a piper band, it chokes me up. Leanne Rhymes sang it a capella on a late night talk show, Leno I think, and wow!! It was beeeeautiful.
Look for "the pipes and drums, and the military band, of the royal scots dragoon guards." You will find the best instrumental version of a-g ever. It made the top 30 charts a LONG time ago. As a Canadian I hear it at remberance day celebs.

Scully: that was a great version. I once saw a programme on Amazing Grace, all the different versions, some blue grass, bag pipes etc. This song will always be one of my favourites.
