  Does England Need The Royals?

  there's lot's of reasons why we need a monarchy.

  here's 1 reason, outlined by peter hitchens:.

  uniquely in all the world, monarchy stands for liberty...the british form of monarchy is preferable to most forms of republics.

  No England does not need royals. Sure, its good for history and tradition, but what's the point of having something around when it's become completely obsolete? You're right, the Queen doesn't do anything except spend taxpayers money and travel, oh wait.. she gives speeches too. It might be good for the economy with all the people going to see the pomp, but why can't you have that with an elected head of state. Buckingham Palace... the place where a Queen used to live; just think, you'd be able to tour it too.

  BTW, I don't think Camilla could become Queen because she was born Catholic and the bigoted Act of Settlement forbids it. Edited to read: Wait, she's Anglican now.

  We shouldn't be ruled by fear and pain. Horrible things happen now, and horrible things happended in the past. It's not really better or worse. If anything it's better, as people have said before. Sure there are gruesome murderers, but there are good people too, the majority of people are trying to be good. Think about this: At least we aren't playing soccer with human heads anymore.

  The only time I've seen a Mormon was in a parking lot and they were wearing name tags. Never seen a Mormon church either (sorry, temple).

  I've never met a Mormon, either. Only a SDA, they are definitely not as strangle-hold as the WT.

  i've stumbled upon this site, while reading many articles after giving up trying to find out what time the memorial is.

  though after reading allot over the last little while.

  i am not too concerned about the memorial either anymore.

  Man kills seven, himself at church service -- beliefs identical to WTS

  back on march 12th, a 44-year old man in wisconsin walked into a church service and shot & killed seven members, including himself.

  the story had made national news.

  the article below from the milwaukee journal/sentinel specifically talks about the church he was involved in, namely the worldwide church of god.. my reason for posting this article is this church's striking resemblance to the wts teachings.

  We want our readers to understand that an obsession with prophecy can become an obstacle to grasping what Jesus expects of us as we wait for his coming -- living a Christlike life of sacrifice, service and generosity, and being agents of change in the world here and now!

  Can you ever imagine the WT saying something like that? They think prophecy is the only thing to the bible, they might deny it... but their actions speak more than their official statements.

  Be sure to keep dogs far away from them. Raccoons are usually the foremost carrier of rabies.

  BTW cute picture. I saw one of those critters at night on campus. Scared me at first until I realized what it was.

  Some good news

  our kid told me this week end that her classes at college are not challenging enough, they are filling her schedule up with projects & busy work, & that she is either going to law school, or for her degree to become a history professor at the college.

  she was going for elementary education.

  lawyer was what she really wanted to be in the first place.

  Good news!

  If she wants something more challenging she should move from a college to a university capable of giving out doctoral degrees, usually they are larger and more challenging. (Of course, in the states, there's not much difference is there?)
