  You know you're NOT a JW anymore when...(add some)

  you don't automatically wake up with a headache on sunday morning.... you no longer go around (while in field service) mentally deciding what home you'll "have" after armaggedon.... every item of clothing you buy as a woman is not first assessed for its modesty value.... you no longer worry about the 144,000 watching you have sex...:).

  when on holiday you don't have to find the nearest kingdom hall asap (remember brother and sisters you are not on holiday from jehovah!!!).

  being able to laugh about having a numb ass at the assemblies from sitting and the hilarity in having to tell people that you found the meeting "uplifting" when really you were fighting sleep the whole time.... you no longer have to avoid entire sections of music stores in order to make sure you don't pick up and "demonistic" vibes from backmasked cd's.

  You get to sit at home on a Thursday and watch all the good shows, instead of having to tape them. Saturday mornings become time for rummage sales and going outta town instead of wasting a whole morning on field service!!! hg

  yesterday i watched a thread grow so fast it was insane.

  that thread wasn?t about how bad the society was, it wasn?t about sex or drugs, it was what we thought could have been someone committing suicide, saying they had enough?life sucks and then....

  then today i read a second posting of someone who has done an exhaustive study on the postings found within jwd (actually only the tame ones that are from people leaning more pro org than against) and determined what a hate filled sack of pus this place is.

  Wander, I'm so glad that you started this thread. This forum really is a place to feel loved and "at home". All of us have a common bond, we've come to our senses, and have been shunned for it. But on here we can talk and express ourselves, and sometimes even be healed from things that have burned us before. Until I found this site through a friend, I felt very alone. Now I know that I'm not, and it's so great to have all of you! hg

  Does God make you better off financially for putting him first?

  a friend of mine told me that an elder said to him, "i've noticed that all the elders in the congregation are doing well financially, because they put jehovah first.

  they have nice cars and big homes.if you put jehovah first, he will take care of you financially.".

  i don't believe god does this kind of thing - otherwise, why are there so many poor elders in developing countries who can't even afford a bicycle to get around?

  Never worked for our family. My family are good dubs, they completely shun me and they're still broke! Ha! If I ever win the lottery they won't be getting any help from me unless they renounce their faith! hg

  Thanks confusedjw!! Did most of what you said already. She's too sleepy right now for most of it, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and we'll have a SpongeBob marathon. I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready eddie eddie eddie! hg

  My 6 yr old daughter just got diagnosed from the doctor with influenza type B. It's really nasty and I feel sooooo bad for her. She has cold symptoms along with very high fevers, body aches, and the chills. Her pediatrician said that anyone who had a flu shot this yr. is suseptable to this strain because the shot was for type A only. If you know of anyone that is getting sick with these symptoms, have them go to the doctor right away. Her pediatrician said that if it can be caught within the first 24 hrs. it can be treated and will reduce the time of sickness to about 2 days rather than a week or more.

  demon attack in Kingdom Hall

  i once heard about a sister that was having a lot of trouble with demons, and apparently she had a bad demon attack in the kingdom hall.. anyone else heard of such a thing?

  so much for the house of jehovah being some sort of refuge.. i have also heard of a witness who still experienced a demon attack despite calling out jehovah's name aloud.

  I think the more you're told not to do or say something, the more likely it is that you'll do it. We weren't allowed to watch certain 'scary shows' or tell ghost stories, so we did it all the more. I was at a few sleepovers when I was young that we had very strange things happen to us that couldn't be explained because we were messing around with ghost stories and whatnot. hg
