Yes, I remember when people used to sing from their heart--whether they were good or not! I was also in one of the orchestras and I really enjoyed it. I met people from all over the circuit that I would have never met otherwise. Those were the ones with personality!

Remember when KH's had a piano and real singing?
by WingCommander inthe thread about got me thinking about my very early childhood, back when witnesses were allowed to be social and have get togethers.
they also had a piano in every congregation i ever attended, and an older sister would always play the kingdom melody.
there was actual singing - not mindless droning and humming.

One of the most irritating things you can say to a Witness?

Be Honest: Did You ACTUALLY Report Accurate Field Service Time?
by minimus ini bet most people did not.
i think nearly everyone counted time spent on breaks.
or sitting in the car for an hour and a half while the elders did a "shepherding" call.

Yes. To lie about field service time would have completely undermined the reason I was there in the first place. And no, I don't think I was pathetic for being honest.
I have to agree with John Doe. It never occured to me to pad my hours. I did find out that my husband had been turning in hours for me to keep the elders off HIS back! I was so upset with him for lying.
Why be in the "Truth" if you are going to lie?

How long do they tolerate you being "spiritually weak" in the beginning...
by Check_Your_Premises in...before they give up on you and just label you as a theocratic slacker/outcast?.
i have picked up that many in our congregation are considered weak or irregular.
it appears that they are "encouraged" but eventually they are given up on and considered a "bad association".. my wife, even when she is at her most dubbed out, only makes field service twice a week, and she can only keep that up for a couple weeks.

Hi CYP--
I think it depends on who you are--the cackling hens never paid much attention to me and the head one has known me since I was a kid! Of course, they view my husband as Mr. Wonderful--so I wouldn't need their help.

You're Pitiful
by under_believer inweird al recorded a song called "you're pitiful.
" it's a parody of james blunt's "you're beautiful.
" anyways james blunt gave his permission and everything, but blunt's label wouldn't allow the song to be distributed, so al's giving it away for free on his website, at http://www.weirdal.com/home.htm (look about halfway down the page, where it says "hey" in big letters.
