I have a Yamaha R6, hence the name r6laser. I bought it back when I was still attending the KH and there was no uproar from anyone. I'm thinking most here play it up too much.

The Watchtower's Unbalanced View of the Internet
by VM44 inin articles concerning the internet, some of which have been titled "a balanced view of the internet", the watchtower devotes the first paragraph or two to the benefits that the internet offers and has provided.
.
then for the rest of the article they go on and on about the dangers and evils of the internet.. they have been consistent in writing in this manner in all the articles they have written concerning the internet.. can the watchtower itself truly be said to have a "balanced" view of the internet?.

R6 - The other thing that cannot be overlooked are the comments that are made at the meeting discussions of these magazines. I remember about 2 1/2 years ago at a WT study discussing the internet someone commenting that "even off" viruses and demons could enter your computer. Needless to say, I rolled my eyes at the comment - but NO ONE corrected this person's viewpoint and I'm sure there are those who left the meeting believing this hogwash!
If that comment would've been made in my KH when I was attending I would personally get up and slap that person back to reality.Even so my point still stands, just because someone who has no knowledge on the internet raises his hand in the meetings and comments making ridiculous statements it doesn't make it true. You see most people in the KH giving their comments are only giving their own views on the subject which most of the time they have no knowledge. I remember little kids and teenagers and old people commenting and their comments were the most furthest thing from the truth. I'm not going to beleive someone sitting in the audience who's giving a comment and take it as gospel. That's ridiculous.

Panty Thief Blames Mental Instability to JW Chilhood
by Gerard inhttp://www.newsregister.com/news/story.cfm?story_no=200299
kim stood accused of repeatedly entering college coed dorms at george fox university and linfield college.
prosecutors said he was stealing bras and panties to add to a meticulously organized and labeled collection he maintained .

Where does it say that the thief blamed his childhood on the crimes. It clearly states that his mother, not the thief:
"Kim's mother attributed his strange collecting habits and sexual predilections to depression and isolation.
She said the family's demanding Jehovah's Witness faith, which he had eventually repudiated, combined with his Korean heritage to limit his social interaction with others. She said it left him isolated, socially ill-adept and vulnerable."
I just don't see why people waste their time searching for news articles about JW's. In this case an ex-JW because it states that the thief repudiated the faith.

Another sick example of what mind games will cause people to do!
If anything this is an example of what an extreme jealous husband would do. News like these happen all the time. I don't see what the big uproar is.

SNG,
While I agree with some of your points on others I don't. First, why would the article state all the benefits of the internet when the articles title is "The Internet: How to Avoid the Dangers". If you thought you were going to read an article which would only point to the benefits of the internet than you got the wrong article.
You mention the article is meant to be read between the lines and that JW are trained to read between the lines. Well I must've missed that day of training when I was an active JW because I never read between the lines. Then you quote sentences from the article and put your own spin on it.
Another point I don't agree is on the percentage of witnesses using the internet. There are huge numbers of JWs using the internet, I know my brothers, cousins who are all still part of the JW's use it constantly. Their friends are always online chatting, they even have their own myspace accounts, and send each other e-mail all the time. They must've also missed the section on the article were it says that the internet is not to be used.

I guess I'm just a sucker for pictures of people in the ministry. Especially when they are wearing native clothing and preaching to someone holding a basket. It just warms my heart. I also like the FAQ page, it answers everything you might need to know about using your credit card to donate.
No problem, I can start working on my own webpage and put pictures of myself on my work clothes holding whatever you want me to hold. I can even put up a FAQ page answering all your questions. All I need of course is a small donation made to my account.

Actually, I think the internet is really dangerous. You could accidentally end up at www.jwgift.org and get tricked into charging up your credit card with donations to the society. Then the stress of trying to pay off your credit cards would cause you to lose your job, after which you would end up with a laptop and a pack of cigarettes on the couch. Oh, the horror of it all.
In this case, I will set up an account and you can send me money also. I really need it, and it could be considered a charity. lol
If your stupid enough to make a donation with your credit card to any website then I guess you deserve what happens next.
