Let me get this straight. Some JW just happened to invite you to their memorial. Which you in turn responded in a very aggresive and stupid manner. Yet she is the one with mental problems..... ok..... What ever happened to ignoring, or live your life to the fullest. All these options and more are way better than flying off the handle over a simple invitation. Sheesh. No wonder most JWs in the truth avoid these so called apostates.

a jw lady from the cong that i da'd from 5 years ago was in there.
normally she doesn't say anything to me, but today she smiles big at me and says in a sing-song voice, "he-ey, the memorial, april 7th!".

my mom was talking to a friend from bethal and they were talking about the number of the 144,000 that are left(..... and i talked briefly about this)and how they feel that there are actually less then 800and remember .....i said there had been a talk or something on it?
well i guess it was a wt article that we studied(well i knew i had heard it somewhere!

All I remember when I was a ministerial servant was that it was a conscience matter, along with every other rule. It was always a matter of conscience. If you didn't want to follow it, then don't. So what if some overzealous elder won't see you in a good light. But I always forget that in this forum we have all the extreme cases of people who actually did everything they were told no matter what.

Well it sounds to me just like any normal problems that everyone in their family has. I've seen o many people, including neighbors go thru this and much worse. I don't see what the big deal is trying to blame those problems on religion. Wow, so you got yelled at. Welcome to a world were people yelling at each other is a common issue, not only that but also in most cases abuse either physical or emotional. I mean haven't you looked around at the world to see this? This is not the way to resolve things, but it happens. It just baffles me that everyday problems get blamed on religion. Another poster gave us his story growing up as a teenager, then having difficulties in High School because being shy, among other things. Wow, if I knew a single teenager not go and experience this I would be really surprised. Face it, there are tons of problems all around us and most of them don't involve the JWs.

After reading most of this I am sorry to say that its sad that some people waste their time bringing up crap like this. So explain to me what is wrong with a company owning funds and such. Basically that's what the WTS is a company, of course they are going to have funds and investments. Many funds invest in a particular business section. But whomever buys the funds has no say so in what the fund actually buys. And as far as being df'ed for owning stocks, I can personally say that when I was in I would actually talk about stocks and funds to others in the hall, exchanging ideas on what to buy and never once did the elders say a word about this. Once again this is an issue where there are few people who make their own interpretation of certain things and then push it along as something that must be followed. Most of you really would have been in a really messed up congregation were everyone followed what was dictated from the platform. I've been in 4 different countries and in countless congregations. While I was in never did I find one congregation where everyone was just doing as they were told. Everyone had basically the same attitude, attend mettings here and there, appear to service a couple of times a month and live your life.

JW kids with Bebo & other such accounts. Its scandelous!
by jambon1 infor those who dont know, bebo is a kind of free web site thing that you can use to put lots of info about yourself, friends & pictures etc.
i think its a bit like myspace or whatever its called.. anyway, i got asked to look at an individuals page and of course it had links etc to this persons friends.
all were jw`s.. if i were still a witness, the stuff that is put on these websites would have concerned me.

Oh no, its kids acting like kids this is so scandelous! lol. Hate to dissapoint you but almost every jw teenager in the jw is either on myspace or other sites. Yes the WTS says to be careful of such sites, but like everything else it is not followed. The only people who I ever heard of following everything the WTS said to the most minute detail are posting here.

I've got the KM and new tract. Can't scan them, (because I have no idea how!) but it definitely doesn't say that.
You have to realize that a lot of posters here make up or add words to whatever they read just to make their point more strong. Sad thing is that the wrong information someone posted is followed up by a bunch of other posters giving more information based on their opinions. At the end of the thread you have this false statement about something that was originally quoted wrong.
Or you get a lot of threads, with comments like: "My uncle who is an elder said this, or my friend who is an elder's wife mentioned this." This is often regarded as good as coming straight from the WTS themselves when in all reality is coming from maybe one or two individuals with different points of view.
In my opinion these posters are actually doing what they condemn the WTS of commiting.

Why would they give you one if you are DF'ed, or dissasociated or not even a publisher? I mean it only makes sense to me. Oh, I forgot, in this board everything that they do is blown up to look like a huge deal.
