Why would they announce this in all congregations in the country? The one who got run over should contact the police and get legal procedures started. Do other churches announce to the whole country when somebody gets in an accident or someone gets robbed or when anything happens at all? I can see it now, sitting at church and here comes the weekly police blotter announced at church.

When one JW runs over another!
by Gill inthe story was kept hushed up, much as in any 'abuse' case that goes on in the wt world but, jws don't like anything to make the wt society look bad.. one jw woman out on 'the misery', reversed into and dragged down the street another jw woman who then broke both arms, ribs, pelvis etc.
infact, she is lucky to still be alive.
this horror was not announced at any kh in the country and kept quiet.

To Hire a JW Could Mean ...
by compound complex ingood morning:.
if an old thread regarding dr. brenda upton v. the wtb&ts had not been bumped up, i would never have come across this horrific but spellbinding information.

"Does that mean that all JWs are bad employees? naw.... But they have their share of "special expectations."" Exactly, just like anyone in the world regardless of religion, sex, race or whatever will have "their share of special expectations." But by reading this forum you would think that all JW's will be bad employees or whatever else bad is out there. Just like the examples Wordly Andre brings or anyone else up of JWs stealing and lying I can come back and bring more examples of just the opposite.

I agree Burger Time, almost everyone here paints the picture of every single JW being a bad employee, a janitor or window cleaner, bad tipper, selfish and so on. When I was still attending there where some that indeed had bad habits such as these, but not all of them. The title of this thread can easily be 'To hire -Anybody- Could Mean' because all these bad traits happen in all businesses regardless of religious affiliation. **Also edited to add that I personally know of close friends that are still JWs with nursing degrees who work at hospitals and they would never give any information to the elders.

The Culability of Jehovah's Witnesses and Pedophilia
by AllTimeJeff inthe subject of pedophilia and the sexual abuse of children often is complicated.
by that i don't mean that it is complicated to know how to deal with pedophiles.
they have a despicable problem in their minds and need to be identified and controlled for all children's sake as well as for their own sake.

I keep hearing how the JW don't warn the rest of their congregation when a pedophile or rapist joins. Are there any religions that actually do this? Never heard of any religion announcing or putting in their bulletin board that so and so is a pedophile. Just like when you move to your new house. Unless you search for yourself, you might just be living next to a rapist or pedophile yourself. Its actually kind of a wake up when you go online and search for known sex offenders around your area, you might just be surprised how many are in your own neighborhood.

I propose a telephone campaign.
by DT inthis discussion started on this thread.

it's hard to organise activity among ex-witnesses or any group that is primarily defined by what it isn't.

Yes, R6 is referring to the Yamaha. To me it just seems that the UN scandal is not as big as the recent news about the pedophilia scandal. But I agree it can be used to show how the WTS is full of hypocrisy, and how they got out of it when as it was discovered.

Why are we still beating on the UN scandal, isn't that old news by now? Why not just talk about recent things, like the big money payout, or anything else besides a topic that is a more than a few years old and which they have already withdrawn their membership.

Why won't South Park parody the Witnesses

Maybe because JW's are not a big enough deal to anyone outside of this forum? But there have been references about them on some episodes.

A question about wireless internet connection....
by Gregor in... we have left it unsecured, that is, no password to access it.
i know this means that someone near by can use our connection, but what are the dangers of this, if any?
-
R6Laser
Several miles? Wow you must have some expensive equipment for it to work over several miles. If you leave your wireless connections open then anyone can just connect to it freely. Once they are connected they can start poking around your network. You have to turn security on the device and change the default password. But I doubt any commercially available wireless router can go over a distance of several miles!

Do Most Witnesses know about UN SCANDAL?
by Abandoned init seems to me that most witnesses still don't know about the un scandal.
since it has been such a useful tool in helping people see the truth about the lying duplicity of the watchtower, how can we get this message out to more in the organization?

Which spanish congregations did you attend, civicsi00? The ones I went more than 80% had internet access, and most young people had their own myspace sites. But as far as the UN Scandal, it is only a scandal to a little group here in this forum. I've brought it up many times to elders, family and to them its no big issue. Even mentioning that they withdrew once it was out doesn't sway them. They come back with, well that just shows you the the WTS did good and backed out of it.

Most don't know and the ones that do don't care about it. To them its just another non issue. I really don't see this being a big deal with them. If the Dateline show about sexual abuse and the current Watchtower documents about the pedophile scandal don't wake them up, I don't see the UN issue holding a candle to it.
