  hello to everyone, my name is esther and i am from australia.. i was directed to this website from my ex husband who also was a jw.

  i guess in the truth we still are as we have not been df or disocciated ourselves.. i just wanted to say hi.

  this is a great website, i had been brought up in the truth and had only decided to leave about 2 years ago, when my marriage was failing,i'm not a person who lives great by other peoples rules, especially when i dont agree with half of them.

  they are scripturally trained to prove to others why they are "in the truth".

  from your vantage point, how can you show this is untrue??

  Change in application to Luke 21:28?

  luke 21:28 tells us that christians living during the time of the fulfillment of the prophecies showing that the end of this system was near were to hold their heads erect as their deliverance was near.

  or at least this is the way the wts has always explained this scriptural passage.

  last night, our visiting co mentioned in that this is no longer the way we interpret this scripture and that our past understanding was incorrect.

  How many "real friends" did you have in your congregation?

  most congregations have about 80 to 120 people.

  out of that, how many could you consider being a "real friends"?

  Soon after that discussion she sent me an email and said we could no longer be friends because I was a threat to her spirituallity.......I miss her. I hope some day she'll wake up, but unfortunately I won't be the one to do it as I'm honoring my friends request.

  I think what she really meant was that the truth about the truth would probably drive her insane but that's just an opinion.

  I have 3 good JW friends left and 2 of them are an ex-ms and his wife who are faders because they know it's all lies. The other is an elder in great standing - FS and Book study overseer who is secretly tossing the Book Study material out the window and using just the bible. One of the Super dubs will eventually tell and he'll be out with me, a confirmed and unrepentant low life apostate who loves Jesus more than a demon inspired organisation.

  Have many become atheists who've left the Watchtower?

  thought i've never been a jw, my wife is, and she was df'd a couple months ago when we got married (we were together a short while before getting married).

  sometimes it seems she still tries to defend jw doctrines... others, it seems she's about ready to accept the idea of some other views (protestant), and yet i've wondered at times when she says she doesn't know what to believe if she's about ready to forget religion altogether.

  i'd prefer she keeps her faith in god but seek her understanding more from the bible than just from other people's doctrines -- esp.

  When I discovered all the lies and coverups I wondered what else those Satanic people were lying about so I went to a big, big, big, church with a very, very large cross on top of it that can be seen for miles around and a pastoral shepherding group of men with Doctorate degrees in all kinds of things. Most caring, non-judgemental people I have ever met in my life and they only use the bible; don't go beyond what the scriptures say and use a translation that doesn't blaspheme God like the New World Order Translation that was invented by a bunch of elementary school dropouts with demonised thoughts of ruling over the world.

  What Do You Do For Fun?

  Go out in FS right behind the dubs with copies of WT flipflops, new light and false prophecies that failed, UN letters and WT denials, sometimes go up to the door while dubs are there so the householder can see the christian love the local dubs show an apostate when I say Hi and call them by their first names. It's better than SNL reruns.

  seeking help

  i have never sought out proffesional help.i guess the way i am is part of that stubborn old school mentality of"i don't need any help".i think i can fight through alot of my feelings.as a raised,insecure,unhappy,negative ex jw child,do members on this forum think someone such as myself should seek psycological help(even if yes,why?

  )why can't i fully move on?does just vocalizing these issues help?.

  i know the answer,but i'm afraid to deal with it.i guess i'm just having a bad day.i'm glad i have this meesage board .youve all been great,sorry to bother with my pitifull emotions,.

  By all means seek professional help. There are probably some therapists with JW experience near you. I have had 3 in the last 2 years. All during the same time frame. If you can go to a group of professional therapists it may be better for them because of the horror we've all been through in the borg. It may help them keep from going over the edge. I'm not kidding, the whole mental health care service had to pass me around between 3 kind, compassionate and caring mental health professionals because it would probably have done damage if I had only seen one. They were there and saw first hand the love of the organisation while I was still in it. This board helps a lot because so many others have faced the same 'loving arrangement' of Jove's the organisation.
