if and when beliefs are "refined"(corrected) does that give me an out?
by ?me? indid my baptism include "you will preach and accept any change, big or small, or we can call you an apostate?".
meaning, has anyone, or could anyone opt out of the org when they make changes that you did not originally agree to when you were baptized as a jw?.
i have basically refused to go out in service or support the org (with money or in the rbc) and i have a real hard time even conjuring up an answer at any meeting because of the 8 man "body " that put itself in power.

Your baptism talk included a question that you had to provide a "Yes!" answer to in order to get yourself dunked.
According to the footnote on page in the April 15, 1987 Watchtower article "Gaining Peace With God Through Dedication and Baptism" your "yes" answer indicated that you had FULL COMPREHENSION of what is involved in coming into INTIMATE relationship with God and his earthly organization.
You can leave but you will get shunned even if you don't DA or get DF'd.
The cult had an army of lawyers draw up the baptismal questions so that they can enforce shunning if a rank & file member figures out it is BS and decides to maake an exit.
You are screwed if you open your mouth.
The best way out is to fade and feign depression or an illness such as fibromyalgia when you encounter the thought police and they encourage you to return to the vomit.

Baptisms only at regional ( district ) assemblies from 2014 / 15 service year?
by dozy injust a rumour but i guess it makes sense - i've a friend on a circuit committee ( he knows it's not "the truth" but for family & work reasons he stays in ) & he says that the wtbts have told them not to book a swimming pool for next years one day assemblies as the plan is to have only one baptism a year at the main regional ( what they used to call "district" ) convention.. with the drop off in baptisms so that sometimes there isn't anyone baptised or just a handful , i guess this is inevitable.
i remember going to a baptism a few years ago - we had hired a municipal 25 metre swimming pool and only one person ( a rather confused and scared middle aged lady who hadn't been in a swimming pool since her youth ) was being baptised - it was all something of a farce with the "worldly" staff looking on very puzzled at such an elaborate & expensive ceremony for one person.
) also with both assemblies being one day with just short morning & afternoon sessions , i suppose it is sensible to ditch the baptism talk - it tends to be something of a snoozefest anyway at the end of the morning session.

Welcome!
Take it easy with your spouse if you want your marriage to survive.
I unloaded TTATT on mine and she couldn't handle it.
That was over 10 years ago and I haven't seen my youngest child in 6 years after she or her handlers decided I am too apostate for the child to have as association.
I hope you don't have any children.

Will the jw's get all excited about Russia in the Ukraine?
by hoser inusually when world events like this take place the dubs start into how the end must be so close they can almost taste it.
maybe there will be some speculation about the king of the north and south again.

The local dolts have been tizzy with excitement for the last week about it.
They think their little cult will get special privileges when Russia controls the Ukraine. LOL

Keep the sheeple stupid and they will always follow you.
If the sheeple get smart they will get lost and you will never find them.
Perfect cult reasoning.

Why are they still going door to door?
by Euphemism inhey all, long time no see!.
a friend posted the anthony morris videos on facebook today, and the ensuing conversation got me wondering: why are the jws still going door-to-door in the developed world?.
it's clearly useless as an evangelizing tactic; the wt have recognized that for 20 years, with their "go where the people are" spiel, but they also insist that it's still necessary.. .

They go D2D for one reason.
People who live alone thrive on comapny.
People who have recently lost loved ones are prime targets for cults.
People who are emotionally disabled will believe anyrthing that gives them hope.
Etc., etc., etc.

During.
I was disturbed by a lot of WT doctrines that went back and forth and also about 1914.
Did a GOOGLE search for 1914 and found this place.
It was all downhill for the Jehovah's Witness cult after that.

How can we benefit from the death of Jesus?
by Bugbear inaccording to many christian churches including wbtc, the very cores of christian believes, is about how god (jehova) sacrifice his one borne son, so that every obedient mankind who believe in him could be released from sin and thereby have the hope of eternal life.
the bible is full of scriptures given this indication.

As long as Adam and Eve were obedient and did not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they had access to the tree of life.
Once they sinned, they were driven from the Garden, and God placed an angel with a flaming sword to guard the tree of life so they would no longer have access to it.
Eternal life was now no longer theirs.
Just as God had warned, they died, and through Adam all men after him would die (Romans 5:12).
By blocking access to the tree of life, God showed compassion in His omniscience. Knowing that because of sin, life would be filled with sorrow and toil, He graciously limited the number of years men would live.
To live eternally in a sinful state with its results—pain, disease, heartache, toil, and grief—would mean endless agony for humanity, with no hope of the relief that comes with death.
By limiting our lifespan, God gives us enough time to come to know Him and His provision for eternal life through Christ, but spares us the misery of an endless existence in a sinful condition.
Through one man, Adam, sin entered the world, but through another Man, Jesus Christ, redemption through the forgiveness of sin is available to all (Romans 5:17).
Everyone who avails themselves of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross will see the tree of life again, for it stands in the middle of the Holy City, the New Jerusalem.
Its water is the constant flow of everlasting life from God’s throne to God’s people...
I also saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
Revelation 21:2
Then he showed me the river of living water, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the broad street [of the city]. On both sides of the river was the tree of life bearing 12 kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations
