  a basic problem with christian apologetics when applied to the bible is that it relies on the tacit assumption you can draw reliable conclusions on the material.

  the most common form of apologetics start out by certain claims (the tomb was found empty, the disciples had post-crusifiction experiences of jesus that transformed their lives, etc.

  this is hearsay since the person who made the statement cannot be sworn in.

  Why would anyone care to dissect the events surrounding Jesus' resurrection in order to know the truth about it?

  
  

  A person either believes it took place or they don't.

  
  

  In my opinion (yeah, I have one of those too. I'm sitting on it) each person has the privilege of believing it or not and no one will be able to change their minds no matter what 'evidence' or suppositions they provide.

  I can't understand why anyone would want to or even attempt to try to change a person's believe about Jesus' resurrection because I believe it is a very private matter between the person and the creator, if there really is one.

  we have spent the last few weeks in training at the montgomery facility (near walkill) there are 6 couples that were trained to go on the road as ldc field representatives of the branch.

  First if all, what is LDC? You need to remember that many of us have been out for years and when a poster talks in initials so to speak, it confuses us if not pissing us off. So please.......spell this stuff out.

  antony morris iii told the audience of a meeting last week that's the society's stance about wearing glasses has changed.

  from now on the gb does not approve wearing glasses because it gives others the wrong idea of being educated.

  parents have to ignore their children's wish of learning to read.

  i was beginning to get lured in and brainwashed into accepting the religion as the true religion...but something inside of me told me there was something odd.

  some time passes and i was invited to a meeting and i accepted.

  Counsellor needed please!

  hi all.. i have noticed that many of our forum members have sought professional help from counsellors who deal with ones like us who have broken free from high control groups or "cults".. my self esteem has been rocked by recent events in the cong, and while i know ttatt it still has taken my joy in life away quite a bit.. as you all know, mentally i broke free from the org several years ago, but now that i am trying to start making the physical break, i feel really unsettled and nervous.. i wonder if a good counsellor could assist in helping me clarify and sort my feelings and emotions , and provide help to take practical steps to cut all ties with the org?.

  if anyone can provide ideas of good counsellors, it would be appreciated.. thanks everyone!.

  About 2 years into my 4 year fade I hooked up with 2 mental health counselors who helped me a lot.

  My super dub spouse didn't want anything to do with joint counseling so I went alone which hastened my recovery from the destructive cult.

  I strongly suggest counseling, especially if you are feeling depressed.

  Gave blood today for the first time!

  red cross had a blood drive near me, i decided to go give blood.

  i hydrated well, ate some red meat for the iron last night and at lunch, we and gave a pint of blood.

  i felt mildly embarrassed, i had no idea what my blood type was.

  Welcome to the board!

  Once you figure out the truth isn't the truth things become much more clearer about the farce of a religion known as Jehovah's Witnesses and when you figure out the Watchtower Society is just a corporation which has managed to fool the governments into believing it is a charitable, nonprofit organization you'll see even more hypocrisy and shady business deals conducted under the guise of religion.
