  I debated with my "devout" JW mom and her JW elders for 5 hours

  as most of you know by now i have told you that my mom has been a "devout" jw for over 40 years and i can't get her to budge.

  well the last time we debated she left me totally confused and in a daze.

  i did some fast research and this past sunday we had a free-for-all debate that lasted 5 hours.

  "We only believe what the Bible says" or Help Refute a Common JW Claim

  i am presently trying to get my wife to not drink the kool-aid (get baptized).

  i have been pointing out to her that her and all jw beliefs come from the interpretation of scripture provided by the gb, and the inherent problems/contradictions therof.

  they say something like, "we don't put the gb on a pedestal or anything, we believe what we believe because it is in the bible, not because the gb is telling us to believe it.".

  Passing along information

  a while ago i read an article somewhere where the org said that you shouldn?t pass along emails or unconfirmed stories without verifying the information and the source otherwise you?ll be contributing in spreading gossip.. do you think the rank and file jws are guilty of lying, since they are transmitting information that they themselves have not bother to confirm?.

  does trusting the gb exonerates them somehow of their responsibility of verifying the information?.

  those who know about some flaws in the teachings; are they in your eyes justified somehow to remain spreading them while staying in?

  did you ever prayed for guidance and opened your bible in a passage that seem to show you the way?.
