  Why Is It That Americans Here Never.....

  slag off us brits?.

  i read all these posts (mainly by a couple of cuddly norwegians) about how the us needs to get it's act together, then there's a flurry of ripostes, the occasional nasty dig, a few generalisations and then the whole thing peters out until some bright spark feels the urge to start off the mischief once again.. well, im sick and tired of belonging to a perfect race and living in a perfect country.

  the uk obviously has the best economy, the best soccer teams, the best monarchy, the best teeth, the best cuisine, the best weather, the best tv, the best armed forces, the best penal system, the best paranoids,.

  Mmmm reminds me of the joke:

  A Brit an Ozzy and a Souf Efriken (South African) are sitting in a bar in London. The Souf Efriken downs his pint, throws the glass into the air, pulls out a gun and shoots the glass! He says: "In Johenissburg we have so many glasses that we never have to drink out the same glass twice!"

  The Ozzy watching this downs his pint, throws the glass into the air, pulls out a gun and shoots the glass! He says: "S'truth mate, in Oz we have so much sand to make glass we NEVER drink out the same glass twice either!"

  The Brit takes this all in, finishes his pint, puts his glass down, pulls out a gun and shoots the Ozzy and the Souf Efriken. He says: "In Britain, we have so many BLOODY South Africans and Australians we NEVER have to drink with the same two twice!"

  Whats the dumbest thing you were counselled for?

  i was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.

  if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.

  one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.

  Mmmm I was constantly being counselled out of love of course! Here are my top five:

  5) Being told by the elders I was wrong to expose myself to demons by seeing the Tom Hanks movie "Big" as it involved magic!

  4) Owning a Barbara Streisand record (I'm gay for god's sake! it's a MUST own cd to maintain your membership card to the club!)

  3) Wearing a *shock horror* floral tie to a bookstudy!

  2) Being fourteen and going to see an Ice Show that happened to feature a Michael Jackson song. I was told I should have walked out at that point!!

  1) Being counselled while at Bethel for befriending some married couples as it was obvious where it would lead... to me having sex with the sisters... what I wanted to point out to them was these sisters were in fact (unbeknown to them at the time) Fag Hags! Divine justice was the married Bethel Elder who counselled me for this was asked to leave Bethel 2 weeks later after being caught snogging (french kissing) and groping another married sister on his window making team!! Well done Greg, I salute you for your lack of hipocrasy!

  .... um I have loads of these types of stories... should I start outing them? I have a list of MS's and Elders who did naughty things to me and with me... wanna know who they are and what they did???!!!
  Perhaps I should just email Bethel with the list and see what happens!!

  Stop fighting all!! I know that Dan was aiming this at me... and I am hurt... I know the REAL Dan! I know that he is homophobic and very anti British! He is cruel to me all the time... he knows how much I love the WTS and by posting posts like this he knows he is destroying yet another little piece of me. Dan, why do say things like this about the society that nurtured you? That loved and cared for your wellbeing? I mean really, as a homosexual JW, I know how accomadating the society can be... cut them some slack!!

  its funny how a phone call from a poster can instantly change ones perception of that person.

  i suppose that we all have a mental picture of how other members look and talk, so the reality of a phone conversation with a jwd member can be very interesting indeed.

  Meditation....

  i was wondering how many of you engage in meditation and if so what kind?

  i went to a new group today that does mindful meditation.

  it comes out of a buddihist tradition.

  Wonder Woman

  I do Iyanga Yoga and meditation everyday of the week. I have my instructor with me once a week and then I do 30 minutes of yoga followed by at least 15 minutes meditation a day.

  Got an earring......

  i first wanted an earring at about age 8, when i saw a movie with pirates.

  a gold hoop in one ear & an eye-patch, man that was way cool!.

  by the time i was old enough to get one, the gay(coming-out) thing was in full bloom & anyone with an earring was considered gay.. next, i get into the borg & you know what thats about.. finally, after all these years, i am wearing my earring, a gold hoop(no pirate eye-patch though), woopie!.

  I know EXACTLY how you feel!! Within three months of leaving the borg I got my ear pierced! What a liberating experience! And when I saw my first lot of Dubs who knew me the best thing was them talking to me and just staring at the hoop in my ear... I returned later with two Tattoos and a marlboro hanging out the corner of my mouth!! Woo Hoo to be FREE F.R.E.E!!!!!
