what do you do when the dubs show up on your doorstep?

i have an arsenal of options depending on the person.

i keep all my old copies of gay times and attitude (gay mag) and i do a swap... i use the "i'll read about your lifestyle if you read about mine!

Taking an Oath/Pledging Allegience

i naturalised as a british citizen and had to take an oath of allegience to queen elizabeth in front of a magistrate.

and now i believe there are citizenship ceremonies for new citizens, very similar to the american system.

does this mean that active dubs cannot naturalise in these countries?

cold calling exclusion zones are springing up across the uk as householders try to deter door-to-door callers, including the latest strain of doorstep "seller" - the charity fundraiser.. the town centre has become their roaming ground, but lately, or so it seems, those insistent young fundraisers known to many as chuggers - charity muggers - have moved from high street to side street..... .

Subscriptions to the Afake & Witchtower magazines!

do any of you remember this... when one subscribed to the awake or watchtower magazines, they would, back in south africa, come in a cardboard roll... kinda like the kitchen roll cardboard thingies... then later they would come folded in half lengthways.

well, where i am going with this is here... it became sort of a status symbol in the congo to have one of these rolled mags and later the folded ones and one would make a point of straightening them out (despite them being underlined to death and well used) to show the fact that you subscribe to the magazines!

did any of you do something similar?

does anyone out there know the answer this one.... .

ok, take for example the oral sex thread and the fact that the dubs reversed their thinking on this.

so, twenty years ago (within the marriage arrangements) blow job = disfellowshipping... now it's a "matter of conscience".

we had popped through our letterbox today the following: "you are cordially invited to attend the deliverance at hand district convention of jw's" at the national ice arena nottingham, uk.. now let me tell you, it is the tackiest flimsiest invite i ever did see.

the paper is so thin it's almost tissue paper.

the cover has three black & white pictures along the top which includes a picture of a rather healthy looking woman holding a child with the heading under it reading "poverty".

Jobs for ex Bethelites

given that we have pending un-employment of several thousand bethelites around the world, what could the (largely uneducated) masses do for a living when the rug is pulled out from underneath them?.

mcdonalds has been mentioned, but what else could they do?.

tour guides for the united nations ngo department.
