  His wife was ready for him to die for his religion, but evidently wasn't ready for him to die had she known about losing his monthly benefits.
  
  She should accept the decision and walk proudly knowing that her God will see her faith and grant her more privileges in her congregation.
  
  If you are going to be a Jehovah's Witness then be one. But don't go whining that you are being victimized because you are one. (Isn't there a scripture about two? (witnesses) disciples of Jesus being whipped and sent out ordered not to preach about Jesus anymore?) If I remember the rest of that scripture, they rejoiced because of what they had received. I don't see any rejoicing from this widow. All I see is HYPOCRITE, HYPOCRITE, HYPOCRITE.

  this is the third elder that tells me that the body of elders will recommend me as an elder in the next visit of the co.. what do you think i should do?

  some facts:.

  i am still 'in' because of my family.i am ms.i am doing 10+ fake hours (well, some months it is fake), so they see my "spiritual" progress.-ootb.

  at every single circuit assembly i attended, there was always the inevitable 'accounts report'.

  it was pretty much always the same;.

  "our expenses for the operation of this fine spiritual meal is estimated to be $18,000.

  Several, several years ago in a land far off, I attended a CA when the food arrangement was still in operation. The cost of the assembly was like $4,000. One year later when the food arrangement was removed, I thought "Hey no more food to buy so the cost of the assembly should be less." Guess what? The same $4,000 if not more. Can't remember anymore. I asked a very good friend who had just been appointed elder and he had the pleasure of attending his first business meeting. Why the increase/continued high cost of the assembly when the cost of food should have been reduced. I could have heard a pin drop. He couldn't tell me. Not that he didn't know, he couldn't tell me in that he was afraid to spill the beans on the money racket. Should have been a red flag then but my blinders prevented me from seeing it.

  i have been experiencing the lull before the storm but it seems to be over and the hurricane is looming overhead.

  Pumpkins in the Kingdom Hall yard....now Christmas lights...you can too

  i have been a pretty serious practical joker my whole life....some say i am stuck in adolescence (i hope she is 17).

  but anyway, right before halloween i took a couple of pumpkins too close to the road at a farmers place and put them in the kingdom hall front yard....i know i should have paid for them but no one was there.

  it was sunday night, and was hoping maybe no one would notice till thursday meeting, but they were gone on wednesday.

  I haven't read all three pages of responses on this thread but thought I'd put my two cents in.
  
  Yes the Dubs should be allowed to believe what they want. BUT
  
  A little fun in putting some "Non-Damaging Decorations" on their property might allow them to explain to their neighbors "Why" they don't celebrate this holiday. After all, the neighbors will be seeing them take the decorations down. Before the holidays
  
  I like to send postcards to the elders and others in the congregation exploiting the false, non-scriptural teachings of the Borg. I have also sent postcards to the neighbors of the elders asking them to approach their (Elder) neighbor and ask about the blood issue or the pedophile issue or shunning. Since I know the physical response the elder is going to have (high blood pressure and short fuse)I make the questions pointed so that the elder can show the "worldly neighbors" what kind of a#s he really is.

  the JW woman was EXTREMELY crazy looking and her acting was so bad it HAD to have been that way on purpose.

  B_deserter, believe it or not but there is a sister in the local congregation who DOES act like that. She will get into arguments with homeowners and tell them off. When I first saw this video, I thought of her immediately. Those I know who also have seen this have mentioned her name.

  Cudos to Brenda. Hope to see more.

  we were sitting around chatting and eventually got to the "death report" where i am updated about who had died around town since my last visit.

  someone mentioned sister so&so had passed on and i asked how old she was.

  it has been our local circuit's two day assembly this weekend.

  it takes place at bristol assembly hall.

  from what i recall seating capacity is about 1200. .

  In the united states here. I'm thinking about my credit card. I understand the concept of purchasing something and using the card, but how am I purchasing something if I'm just giving cash to the borg? Is it considered a cash advance on the card and I am then charged the higher interest rate? How is it done accross the pond?
