the park has a basketball court, a children's playground.
I think the higher position in 'any' corporation/business you are, the more gabbing is allowed. I was a MS. The meetings I attended never allowed for gabbing. The Elders read the letter and we were dismissed. No questions. No discussion. Here is the new instruction from the society. Follow it. Thank you very much. You are all doing such a fine job. Now go back out in field service.
In my current job there are the
workers = kind of like the R& F
group leaders = ms
foreman = elders
workers are told to keep busy. No gabbing allowed.
Meetings between foreman and group leaders were brief then get back to work.
But everyone saw the Foremen just talking away. Smiling, laughing. Having a jolly good time.
I guess it depends where you are in the food chain.
dear all,.
why can we not get on with our lives and let go of what we have all been through?
why are we all still so angry and frustrated?
O Blondie you beat me to it. I must have been typing as you posted.(Also put grandchild to bed)

Hello, My name is Inbyathread
Group: (Hi, Inbyathread)
I've been a recovering JW for a year now.
We don't ever really recover. There are some scars that will last a lifetime. We all do move on in different sorts.
Like AA and NA programs this is a CA program (Cults Anonymous)
We give and receive support during the difficult times. If we truly moved on then who would offer assistance and encouragement to the newbies that are coming to this site on a daily basis.
There are many here that have made the transition. They haved moved on and are no longer part of the forum. I am glad for them as they can say they are ready to face the world. Others however have also made that same transition but have stayed to help others. They are friends in the best sense of the word. They stick around during the bad times. They cry when we cry and sing songs when we are glad.
I don't think that we all are angry but frustrated is a good word to use. It is frustrating to see present and former friends blindly following a man-made org. No matter what we say they dig their heels in further. When someone finds something that works we all try it and share how it worked in our area. We hear updates of legal and medical situations that the rank and file don't ever hear because the society doesn't want them to know.
If we don't help, who will?

everyone has a song that reminds them of a particular moment in their lives, happy or sad or sometimes indifferent.
its only that when you hear that song it takes you back even catching you off guard and suddenly your back in high school or remembering someone you loved and lost.
how many of you have a song that reminds you of leaving the org.

i've never quite understood the big deal about men leaving the toilet seat up but since i hear so much about it i try to comply.
i do have a pet peeve.
sometimes when i lift the seat there are obvious signs on the underside that a female has used it and not bothered to 'tidy up'.
but there's no way I can save the cowboyROTFLM#O
That is good, I've never heard that one before. Thanks. I really needed that.
has your child raising or discipline tatics changed since your out of the borg?
i always thought that i would use spanking as a discipline.
since supposedly the bible encourages it.
Good question Rachel
I don't know where I saw it last. I hope it wasn't a WT made up statement. I'll need to do some checking myself. If this statement is false my apologies to all.

Spanking to cause physical pain is wrong just as striking someone across the face would be wrong.
Biblically, a strike across the face was done for humiliating the individual or causing embarasement.
I see nothing wrong with a swat on the bottom on a child that is misbehaving. The swat is not to cause pain but to get the childs attention. Most parents have already done the speaking to the child thing. Asking they not behavior in that manner. The child is not listening and the parent needs another method to get the childs attention.
No everybody will agree with this but even Dr. Spock wrote that america raised a generation of brats because of not spanking.
i realized on sunday that i had not yet done something that was on my list of df'ing offenses.
so first thing this morning, i went and donated some blood.
i must say it felt very good to do so.
Congrats to you. I tried to get into it with a CO but he wouldn't bite. Just told me to write to the society. I gave awhile back. They just called asking me if I'd like to make another appointment for another drawing. I'll do it again. Since they called me back I guess my blood is good enough afterall.
I too was asked why I was donating. Gave a very nice witness™ to the nurse. She has relation who are witnesses but apparently as stayed away from the blood topic.
hello dear friends... well, many of you are aware of my on going daily saga.
my husband and i left the organization about a year and a half ago.
we have not been disfellowshipped, nor have we disassociated ourselves.
If they are supplying the meal, go, eat and enjoy. If they ask about your thoughts on a sensitive subject just answer.
