...without doing anything unscriptural.. what made them jealous, nervous or afraid of your behavior that wasn't against anything in the bible?.
for me, i find plenty of information on this forum way before any in the congregation (or circuit/district for that matter).
everything from new campaigns, death of gb members, letter to the body of elders (as in the new wt format arrangement starting next year), question from readers in wt magazines that haven't even been delivered to the congregation, ordering the new revelation book in paperback with the revisions already in it while the entire congregation is cutting and pasting out of the kingdom ministry insert...etc.. how do i know all of these things?

So very true. I had a three hour discussion with the CO and one of his local elder minions. Told him much and all he could ask is "How do you know these things?" I smiled and said I know elders who are more than willing to tell me what is really going on. Haven't heard from him for over a year now.

After about the fourth talk about submitting to the authority of the elders I loudly got up and stormed out of the hall slamming the door open in the process. The following sunday this particular elder wanted to discuss my attitude in the second school. I told him. NO we can discuss this right here where everyone can hear us and know what the problem is. It quickly ended.
how many disfellowshipping "offenses" would he find?.

THAT IS a conditioned response. The motive of the person when a question is asked. Never mind the question. You did fine and your comments to her were not bitter at all. Be glad she does talk to you. Keep the questions light and short. Small amounts of apostatalk is easier to take.

If you haven't already, download a copy of the flock book and read up on the section on judicial hearings. Be completely familiar with their tactics. A good lawyer already knows the answers before he asks the questions.
Take along a tape or digital recorder. Let them see it and when they say that you cannot have that you can ask them if this is a judicial hearing because the flock book doesn't mention recordings being prohibited at other meetings. They will force the issue so don't worry about it at that time. Keep the recorder off. Now you pull out the pad and pen and document who is there and that you cannot utilize the recorder and are therefore going to use paper and pen as a backup.
Don't answer their questions but keep requiring them to answer yours. If they insist you answer them just use this answer for all of those questions. "That is a difficult question to answer. Allow me to do some research on that and I'll get back to you on it." Write down the question and who asked it. Take your time get the question written down correctly. Read it back to them and ask if that is what they want answered.
Use these phrases
What I hear you say is that ...
Is that what you mean?"
Write down everything they and you say. At least one of them will be writing (documenting) the meeting, you are just doing the same. "I see you writing down my answers on a paper. Will I be getting a copy of that for my records?"
Don't call them brother, use their first name.
If they use generic words like "We've heard that you have committed some serious sin"
When some have left the truth or God's organization they revert back to God defiling practices, are you doing such things.
Have them qualify the source. If they refuse (they will) you can say things to the effect that:
"Repeating things like that amounts to SLANDER and I will use all legal means necessary to keep my name and character free of harmful defamatory remarks." and repeat your request to know who said it.
Ask is there is a clergy/laity distinction within the congregation.
Then why do elders use laws designed to help christendoms clergy? Certainly by following Jehovah's standard found in the Bible, you wouldn't need any protection that Cesear could offer, would you?

hey folks, i sent a letter to a friend, and asked him a question.
here is what i wrote:.
"hey buddy,.
My response back would be "I wanted YOUR explanation on the scripture, what you believe this scripture means to you. NOT the Watchtowers explanation. Try again."
I asked the presiding overseer of my (ex)congregation. Perhaps these questions would work for you as well.
Q. Is the Bible inspired?
A. Yes, of course it is.
Q. Is the Watchtower magazine inspired?
A. No.
Q. Then why are we required to believe everything that is printed in that magazine? Even the Governing Body do not state that they are inspired. How can their words be held so closely as the Bible's?
A. (Blank)
I further commented:
Remember 2 Timothy 3:16,17 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
Scripture is benefical for teaching and setting things straight, not the Watchtower.

ok not withstanding a long heated disfellowshipping thread, how can they say you are no longer a jw?.
jehovah always sees you as a witness of his, maybe a bad witness, or a sinful one, but one nonetheless.. was david not a servant of jehovahs when he made mistakes, or peter when he coward?
If the elders counselled me not to speak to them, I could say, "Why? You never announced that she/he is disfellowshipped...you said he/she is 'no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses.' I speak to people who are not Jehovah's Witnesses every day."
Well Bonnie_Clyde - Then the elders would bring out that little green book entitled "Organzied to Do Jehovah's the Watchtowers Will" which states on page 154
"When it is necessary to disfellowship an unrepentant wrongdoer from the congregation, a brief announcment is made simply stating: "[Name of person] is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses." There is no need to elaborate. This will alert faithful members of the congregation to stop associating with that person (1 Cor. 5:11)..."
I am sure you noticed that "alert faithful members" part. Are you faithful? Of course you are that is why you would stop associating otherwise you would be next to have your head chopped off as being "Unfaithful"

i've always thought about putting together a vacation package for just ex-jw's.
if say, one was put together to stay several days at a place like the acapulco princess hotel in mexico, or the rose hall hotel in jamaica with lunches, dinners and entertainment all included and swiming pools galore would you come?
maybe a package that includes airfare and everything for $1500 or so per person!.
I would guess that Ex-Witnesses don't have much extra cash to spend. Becoming a witnesses required me to make some personal, financial and health related decisions that I now regret. I'm doing all I can now to just stay afloat. I hope everyday that something doesn't happen to cause another ripple in the water.
Depending on where the witness lives, he or she might not even have health insurance. Unless they had schooling prior to JW Land and have something to fall back on. Jobs with good insurance or pay is difficult to find. Insurance on a minumum pay job is outright impossible.
first i refused to use my 2007 suv.
i said that it was overdue for service and i did not want to risk damaging it.
so we all pile in the pos scion with his business name (cleaning duh) plastered on it.. as usual nobody comes to the door as we take turns (po and i and the other two bros) doing the territory.
So I got the lecture about how lots of JWs died there and I answered "Yes, all three of them were loyal to Jehovah to the end"
I predict a short meeting in the very near future with you and three other nice gentlemen just wanting to "correct your thinking"

i tried the one in the newspaper the other day and just about solved it.
but thought i should start small and work my way up to get a better understanding of how it's played.. so i picked up a sudoku mag at target the other day.
it's an easy one and i'm really getting the hang of it and enjoying it.

I love Sudoku. My son has Brain Age for the Nintendo DS, and it has a ton of Sudoku puzzles in it. I've finished all the basic and intermediate puzzles. I have about 7 advanced ones I need to finish.
