Mormons don't shun? hahaha- maybe they call it the, cold shoulder treatment, instead. Of course that is an improvement from the Mormon's Mountain Meadows days in the 1800's-- back then they killed you with a musket ball to the head.

You seem to be getting good medical care-- and that means you will have good recovery. Being handicapped won't stop you from enjoying life- and you can now go to the head of the line on those rides at Disney World- look at all the time you will save. Good luck.

Is a slow fade being selfish when you have kids?
by dissonance_resolved inso i got some great advice to take things very slowly with the husband and kids in order to be able to fade and still maintain contact with my parents and siblings.
but today i got a call from my son's teacher that he was having a meltdown because he was worried about all his friends and teachers being destroyed at armageddon.... first i felt like such a schmuck for ever having allowed that thought to enter my son's head, then i thought, is it psychological torture for me not to immediately correct the situation?
i had a long talk with him about how god is perfectly just and full of love and he didn't have to worry about that at all, but it still seemed lukewarm.

I quit the KH when my kids were 8 & 10 years old- My wife then taught them I was the evil apostate- my kids were 10 and 12 when they started visiting me for summer vacation ( a year after the divorce)- I gave them total freedom to go the the KH (4 blocks away) or stay home- by the second summer they decided they didn't want to go to the meetings at all. I think if I had waited until they were 13-15 to leave the KH, it might have been too late for me to overcome the KH's indoctrination.
Hardly anyone has faith that taking the honest and open road is the best course- I see that most are trying to manhandle their fading exit from the KH so that they can control the outcome to suit their wants-- My kids are glad now that I wasn't a namby pamby fader who ruined their childhood, because I was too weak to stand up to the WT lies and the domination of the elders. They have told their mother that she is the one who ruined their home, not me.
The Bible says, "you reap what you sow", but the secret wish is to be able to avoid any personal consequences for leaving a to a cult-religion. Kicking the can down the road is not a plan to leave the WT religion, it is an excuse to avoid possible pain, just like that dentist you hate to visit.

the 1991 Lovers of freedom is the best. Never seen it before
Well, the brothers now had free hoagies and Shasta sodas and the conventions! Flying high on free food! Ah, the freedom to not pay for WT literature and convention food. It didn't take the society long to find out the brothers and sisters liked eating the food more than they liked donating money for it.

Checklists for High-Control Groups/Cults
by Lady Lee inchecklist of characteristics.
deception lies at the core of mind-manipulating and high-demand ("cultic") groups and programs.
many members and supporters of these groups/movements are not fully aware of the extent to which they have been abused and exploited.

Wasn't the big purge at Bethel was around 1980?-- by 1981 the WT was in damage control mode= censor the brothers from talking to DF'd ones who had knowledge of dastardly deeds perpetuated at WT HQ.

If you know what a woman's shopping list looks like, you won't waste your valuable time on a chick who is only into you for, free stuff.
I remember a singles adv in a weekly penny shopper paper about 20 years ago- the one important thing she specifed in the final sentence of her ad-- "must have horses"- that made it simple for me, horses (plural)= land, barn, house, $50k diesel dually truck, $30K horse trailer (with people bed, tack/change room and bathroom) and plenty of this, $$$$$ . I passed her on by.

Leaving by the front door of the KH is an honorable way to exit the WT cult- good luck and start living your real life now.

I guess they will next label all the smart phones, Ipads, etc as luxuries and guess what- the JWs who have these should have donated the money to WT for the worldwide work-

Mormons don't try to take away anyone's freedom of choice about anything-
CS, this is really tragic and dangerous thinking- of course the LDS Bishops gives you a choice and so does the WT Governing body/elders--my way or the highway, my way or lose your family ties.
Mountain Meadows= history gives us a lesson on why we can't trust Mormon members, like CS who are still under the mind control of LDS leadership.

Do you have children?- at home or grown- and are they JWs- if all no, then you are halfway free.- take two steps forward.- yes?- take two back.
Do you have JW parents and inlaws, and JW siblings? if yes, take one step back.-
Have you been married a long time and you have no career of your own?- if yes , take one step back.
If you have too many JW connections in friends and family that you can't bear to lose, it will be very hard to walk away. Some people value truth above lying to the brothers in order to keep from getting shunned.
