i remember back 8 years ago when i left the organization the elders were being called "jehovah's special appointed ones".
i thought to myself that this was starting to become a clergy class.
i mean if that doesn't set you about the rest of the flock, i don't know what does.
I agree with candidly. Anyone who has been in that organization for long knows that they very definitely have different classes within the congregations and on up the chain as well.
They are so slippery. I wish, just once, that some govt agency would be able to pin them down and hold them accountable for their abuses.

just got off the phone with the judicial committee, the same one that i blew off last sunday.
i wasn't even sure they'd call, but come to think of it, i think that's just what they're supposed to do if i don't show up.
they called as a conference call (none of them has been willing to talk to me on the phone alone!

...he was a very happy and self-satisfied man; a man who needed nothing from anyone else.. but he got this notion to move west and establish a special place for him and his wife.
with hundreds and thousands of acres of pristine land, a bonanza of wonderful things!.
as he and his wife lived there, others heard about this incredible place, and asked to move there, and in his beneficience and generosity he invited anyone and everyone to join his community: free land, plenty of food, no fears, life abundant.. as this idyllic community developed, avenues and streets were made, so that everyone could easily get around to meet with each other.. but it became apparent to this happy man that there were certain hazards associated with these avenues and streets: there would be accidents!
sad... we see so much of this kind of attitude from those who should care...

Guilty!... of fooling so many people into thinking that his music was really, really good.
Personally, I think if he is found guilty, they will reduce his sentence due to limited mental capacity...

having had my 1-2-1 with my boss yesterday on my performance in managing an acute surgical ward, she informs me that she expects me to commence a course in critical care at degree level commencing september.
the reason being our surgical ward is being converted into a high dependancy unit (like an itu) and she wants me to manage it and gain the necessary skills.
i already have a diploma in higher ed.
Thanks, please do. I started from scratch and it took me 6 years to get my Bachelors Degree, but has paid off in so many ways. Will you be going at night?

A degree is difficult and takes time but is well worth the efforts. What kind of classes are you being asked to take and at a university or a business school?

my born-again christian friend that help me leave the wts is devoted to telling jews that they are going to hell for not believing in jesus christ.
i tell him all the time that i believe that jehovah and jesus going to save jews if their worship is sincere.
he insist that jews and anybody that is not a born-again christian is going to burn in hell for eternity.
Do not believe that such a horrid place exists in the first place.

do you truly believe that there is a place/state/condition that god will forever banish some people to, along the lines of the hell concept?
only the "really bad", the "bad", or even the "not as good as they should be"?.
(this came to mind when i saw the "jews in hell" thread.
Not I... I think the language in the Bible that most of the belief in hell is based on is open to too much interpretation to be taken seriously.
My two cents, anyhow...

having never felt "anger" as such toward jws or the organisation myself, it is apparent that many here do.
sometimes just by reading the thread title it is clear in many how they feel, so for more seasoned posters, or maybe those who have been out longer, how long does this anger take to fade, if it ever does.
maybe you never felt like that anyway.

Everyone goes at their own pace. Living a full and active life really, really really, helps. I used to think of nothing but the outrageous things that happened to me at the hands of that organization, but for the most part now am not angry like I was.
It comes and goes, good days and bad, but mostly good. There are certain topics that will definitely set me off still, and you'll see me blow my top once in a while on those topics, but, it's getting better. It's been 11 years.
This board really helps, wish I'd found it years ago.
