  i would like to think everyone for thier the support through my famalies trying times.

  well things did not turn out the way i was hoping it would have so far.

  my wife has not come home as of yet and has no plans to.

  Welcome, Fading.

  I'm sorry your family is in such an uproar... I, too am surprised that the body moved so quickly. Wonder if the Org is finally beginning to realize that there are many faders and that they do use opportunities to open the eyes of others in discreet yet effective ways. A fading elder is exceptionally dangerous, especially if he is well liked and respected in the cong.

  Hope that things will settle for you quickly, and am happy to read that your son's are getting along well. They may like the new freedoms now, but may have a backlash of guilty feelings later on, especially if Grandma or their Mom begin pouring on the tears once they see that they are not having the desired effect on you. I'd watch them like a hawk!

  Honestly and truly, if someone did this to me, I would remind them in no uncertain terms of the ridiculousness of it all. I would also let them know that if they were going to go by this elders wishes that I would be canceling the hall and they could find some other doormat to pay for a place.

  Of all the nerve. And to those who would say how heartless this is, my comment is: Are you such a doormat that you feel obligated to pay someone to walk all over you? What happened to your self-respect that you feel you must play the martyr in order to be worthy of being this person's relative? Do you really think that a person who would take an 'elder's' advice and cut you out of the most precious moment of their life deserves you anyhow?

  I don't, and playing into their bullshit just enables them to continue this type of emotional blackmail with others. Don't play into it!

  I remember that very moment; distinctly like a moment frozen in time. For me, there was a sense of loss followed quickly with a wave of emotion; sadness, relief, concern about the future. Divorce is such an ugly thing, but necessary at times.

  I hope this works out well for you, and congratulations on throwing off the indoctrination. That piece was critical to my recovery.

  you must honestly want to spread your happiness infectiously throughout the world.. you must try to wear a smile most of the time.. you must listen compassionately and give good hugs.. i does not matter if you are not currently feeling happy, but you must promise to summon the feeling from within yourself.

  some of you seem perplexed as to my latest threads, i thought i would give you a little background.. .

  about 3 years ago, amanda and i met up with an xjw elder here in knoxville.

  it started out ok, but deteriorated rapidly.

  Maybe 'happiness is the best revenge' is a misnomer? Really, when you look up the word happiness and the word revenge it seems that they do not even belong in the same sentence. How about 'happiness is it's own reward' or 'by surviving a terrible experience and growing from it, my happiness will follow'. Just throwing a few ideas out there.

  Personally, I think that there is a time and place for 'advice' and a time and place for 'a hearing ear'. In this instance, I believe the later was the goal whereas the first was the reality, hence several pages of disconnect.
