Frog's first semester Uni results are in!
by Frog ini realise this is probably quite a dull subject for all my friends here, but this frog can't help but to share her happy moment, cause she's just bursting at the seams with self-congratulatory praise!.
i just logged on to the uni website to get my long awaited semester one results.
i knew i had done well with my essays, pop quizzes etc throughout the semester, but i attributed that to the fact that i had weeks to fine tune my writing and research.

I'm very much interested in sustainability and renewable natural resources:)...are you??
This is the rhetoric from the unit handbook for one of the subjects I'll be enrolled in all year...
Introduces a range of approaches to the study of environmental processes and human relations with nature, including key ecological and cultural dimensions of human adaptation of the Earth as habitat. The unit comprises four major components: (a) Society, Space and Development (semester 1) -- covers the basic concepts in human geography, by exploring the theme of development and sustainability; (b) Environmental Processes (semesters 1 and 2) -- covers atmospheric, geomorphic, and biotic processes and considers their modification by people, especially in Australasia; (c) Environment and Society (semester 2) -- covers the human impact on the environment both currently and historically, and the evolution of conservation ideas; and (d) Practical and Field Studies (semesters 1 and 2) -- provides training in the basic field and laboratory techniques used in geography and environmental studies.

Dad's and daughters...
by Frog inlately i've been feeling incredibly frustrated by the relationship i have with a few members of my family who aren't attached to the org, or just hanging in by a thread.
my dad is one such person, love him to bits, but he really gives me the sh*ts with his poor me act grrrr.
i just get tired of always being the one who calls, who stays in contact, who visits etc.

Frog
That's really wonderful Andi:) Know what you mean re 'fluffy' stuff, but it's all welcome all the same. Tis nice to have some resemblance of a normal relationship with your folks, even if it's just tastes every now and then:)

Lately I've been feeling incredibly frustrated by the relationship I have with a few members of my family who aren't attached to the org, or just hanging in by a thread. My dad is one such person, love him to bits, but he really gives me the sh*ts with his poor me act grrrr. I just get tired of always being the one who calls, who stays in contact, who visits etc. Decided I was fed up with it and if he really cares he would be the one to contact me. Don't get me wrong when we talk these days we can go on for hours, we've so much in common, and I know he loves me very much. He's still in the org, but has turned into a fence dweller over the last couple of years. He's far too intelligent to be a mindless sheep forever. Anyway, I haven't called him in a little while and I got this text message last night:)
"How's my mouse: Dux (re uni), house boss (re my new job), world traveller, galaxy hitchhiker...hope you're well, dad & spud (his dog) xxxxx
It took us years to teach him how to text, so that was quite an effort on his part! Anyway I feel all warm and fuzzy. Sometimes I guess it pays to hang back and give them a chance to respond to youfrog of the loves her dad class, and wishes he'd come completely into the light.

Another question for JW"s
by Apostanator in.
what is your definition of soon ?????????
i need to know so that i can adjust my life !
-
Frog
funny question to ask, perhaps you are picking up from where you left off from another thread and I've missed out?!?
Soon = vague time in the near future that can be manipulated to mean 'imminent' and undeterminable at the same time. The WT has been using this word since the dawn of their time. From past applications of when the WT has used soon, we can determine that this can mean anytime within the next 100years.

Anyone a fan of the KLF / Bill Drummond
by jimakazi ini am currently on the track of music by the klf, having just got everything associated with pink floyd.
is anyone else a fan of klf, hell as any one else even heard of them?.
what makes this a challenge is that bill drummond and jimmy cauty, who formed the kopyright liberation front, distroyed their entire back catalogue some years ago about the same time as they burnt 1,000,000 pounds as a work of art.
-
Frog
Hey there Jim, sorry to say I'm completely ignorant about KLF/Bill Drummond, I'm sure they are just as great as you say there are though:) Felt bad that no-one had responded to your thread, especially since it's clear to see how passionate you are about em'!
Enjoy! frog

Forgetting about God ?
by ScaryHairy ini see some of you have been hurt or feel mislead with the organization.
even if you dont like the organization and choose not to be apart of it, i can see where you come from.
what i dont understand is why some of you take out your frustrations on god.

If I've read the bible correctly, John the Baptist wasn't a publisher either. Neither was Peter, Paul, Mark, Luke, or John. If you're trying to live the life of a Christian and share your faith, where in the bible does it say there has to be a 3 x 5 card with your name on it at a Kingdom Hall?
Right on the knocker Billygoat! The org wants to make you feel that they are handing you an incredible privilege, it's all about status, and all about weighing up your self-worth against how closely you tow the line in the cong.
You don't need their approval to speak about your beliefs, they aren't worthy of the authority that you are giving to them. You sound a far more true person than a dozen you would find in any kh. Walk away mate, you will feel such liberation, and you will be being very true to yourself:) frog

Would you help a dub?
by greendawn inif a dub needed your help as in a medical emergency or in getting employment/job contract or in getting your support in a dispute with someone on a non religious issue or in some other way such as in a car break down would you help them?
-
Frog
Damn I typed a reply, and it got sucked into cyber space...
I think if the person was a kind hearted dub, then perhaps a display of unconditional support and friendship might just be enough to melt their icy jw hearts. Might just plant a seed of doubt at the "apostate" label the WT has appropriated for many of us. Agree though that you shouldn't put yourself out on a limb for any dub. Anything that is going to cause you emotional strain isn't worth it, we've had enough of that already. frog
