perhaps you just need to re-evaluate where you're hanging out?!

Would you have quit the JW's for a Worldly Person you loved?
by JH inwhen you were a devout jw, and if you would have met a man/women that really pleased you, would you have quit the jw organization for that person, if he/she asked you to?

I suspect she might, but you don' t know unless you try, and that could be fun;-) This is reall cruel, but I remember the front couple of rows at the "kingdumbhall" was always a little like the puppy pound, with all the hopeful rejected spinsters sitting closer to the front begging for a partner...

oh my Dan-o, so your your father was suggesting an aesthetic substitute!! That's the kind of daft thing a witness father will say to his kid, that you're unlikely to ever forget!

What's PA Grammie? am I invited?!! and yes I'd have to agree that there is certainly a special bond that we share with ex-jw's here on the board, and beyond. It's more "brother" & "sister" like than anything I experienced or saw inside the org. froglett

I really don't think it's a case of leaving the org for love, it's really just a tangible way of expressing that you want something more out of life. Clearly if you were open to the idea of 'unevenly yoking yourself with an unbeliever' that your thoughts must have somewhere along the way digressed from strict jw law, which allowed you to open up your mind and emotions to the idea. Falling for an 'unbeliever' when you're on the inside can be the most amazing experience if you've grown up in the faith, it might be the first time that someone truly sees you as an individual, and unique, a person through whom you can have an outlet to the outside "world". I believe that when you fall in love in this way, it is more so that you're making sure that when you step outside of jw bounds that you will have someone to nuture your needs, someone to love you when your family and friends reject you.

Were You Always Afraid To Do Something Wrong As A Witness?
by minimus in.
jws are always being reminded that you "could" stumble someone.
you had to continuously question yourself about possibly offending another (weak) christian's conscience.....were you always worried that you were going to get into trouble because you might've screwed up somehow??.

Was racked with guilt over having misled my younger siblings when I left the faith for a year from 17-18. I must have written them a dozen letters each trying to make up for the "negative" impact I might have had on them.

This is all classic stuff!! It rings so many bells...I remember a conversation with the CO's wife over a young couple in a neighbouring congregation who had just been reproved for matters of oral sex, it was talked about as though the subject was completley common knowledge, and it was!!!
I was always being sent back inside the house to take off excessive make-up, or change to more modest clothing for the meetings.
In my cong you were practically marked if you associated outside of the witness circles at school???
Couldn't wear pants to the meetings cause I didn't have a doodle;-)
Wasn't allowed to watch monkey magic, smurfs, or never ending story on the tele, cause of the underlying supernatural themes???
Mum had to buy us 'icecream dolls' cause cabbage patch dolls were possessed???
And soooo much more, but mostly already covered in the above posts...froglett xox

My JW G.F.-- Told parents about wanting to marry me. UPDATE
by PAJA inwell as from my earlier posts, my jw gf told her parents she wanted to marry me last saturday.
they gave her the guilt treatment about not being a good jw and how marrage to a non jw is a sin etc.
and when i saw her monday she said she could not marry me anymore.

heya paja, I more or less commented in my previous post similar to what 'kls' has said just now. Unfortunately it is true, in the long term you need to evaluate if this is a life you can live with. It will be a rollacoaster ride for both of you. She needs to go through the motions alone before she can wholeheartedly commit to a relationship with you. Believe me, as much as you love her now, you can believe us as a lot of us know, we've been there. I don't want to diminish the love you have for your gf, but I think you might find there are simply thousands of young naiive JW girls that you would be attracted to in a similar way, there is a definite appeal, you might even feel a need to save her in some way from the terrible pain and torment that is her life. But in the end she has to make that decision for herself, and until that happens she will not be able to commit to you in the way you want her to.
I'm sorry these are harsh realities, but they are the truth. Take care of yourself won't you xox froglett

What's the purpose of restrictions after reinstatement?
by truthseeker inthe parable of the prodigal son.
i will set out and go back to my father and say to him: father, i have sinned against heaven and against you.
" "my son," the father said, "you are always with me, and everything i have is yours.
