  has been ages since i've looked at the wtbts website, so i thought it was about time, since i knew i could do with a good laugh!

  i stumbled on this pure gold.... "have you ever wondered...what it means to be spiritually clean?

  Has been ages since I've looked at the WTBTS website, so I thought it was about time, since I knew I could do with a good laugh! I stumbled on this pure gold...

  "Have you ever wondered...What it means to be spiritually clean?"...and thought I'd post the link; http://www.watchtower.org/library/rq/index.htm?article=article_09.htm. This particular paragraph caught my attention;

  2. Spiritual Cleanness: If we want to serve Jehovah, we cannot hold on to any of the teachings or customs of false religion. We must get out of false religion and not support it in any way. ( 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 ; Revelation 18:4 ) Once we have learned the truth about God, we must be careful not to be misled by people who teach falsehood.— 2 John 10, 11 .

  2 John 10,11. 'New World Translation'

  8 Look out for yourselves, that YOU do not lose the things we have worked to produce, but that YOU may obtain a full reward. 9 Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God.   12 Although I have many things to write YOU , I do not desire to do so with paper and ink, but I am hoping to come to YOU and to speak with YOU face to face, that YOUR joy may be in full measure.

  I couldn't help but feel a bit paranoid, I think they mean us bad 'postate' peoplehehe. frog

  i gave blood as planned yesterday, and it weren't all that bad!

  anyone who says it doesnt hurt and feel uncomfortable is telling fibs though!

  all that passes relatively quickly, and it's all over within 20minutes at the most.

  I gave blood as planned yesterday, and it weren't all that bad! Anyone who says it doesnt hurt and feel uncomfortable is telling fibs though! All that passes relatively quickly, and it's all over within 20minutes at the most. The old dears working at the surgery were so sweet to me, getting me drinks and offering me food and stuff, I really lapped it up and made the most of it! They even gave me this cute beany teddy bear for my troubles.

  Started to feel pretty light headed towards the end of it though, pretty awful feeling actually. So, they swung me upside down in my chair to get the blood recirculating, and within a few minutes I was flully recovered. The poor guy next to me hadn't donated in some 20 years, and copped it much worse than me. He went this horrible jauntice colour, but within 20minutes he was fine again and walking his way outta there.

  Was a really pleasant experience all round. It's a good sensation to walk out of the clinic knowing that you've conquered your jw phobias on blood, and to know what good your donation will do i.e., cancer patients, accident victims.

  I'd highly recommend it to everyone who hasn't yet taken the plunge, especially if you're hungry cause they feed you rather well! frog of the no longer freaked out about blood transfusions class

  The Blitz,what happen to it?

  remember the days when whole groups went out and did the blitz, six to eight blocks in row , a couple of hours of real time witnessing.

  it was in the seventies.

  we would start one group at one corner and avenue, the other at the opposite end, then meet up in the middle and share the results.

  Funny the things you forget over time, oh the memories:) those kingdom track thingies, the ones that came out once every couple of years. I remember the first time I was aware of the campaign, it scared the bejeebees out of me, I thought things must have been really hotting up in the armageddon hot pot to be causing such bustling activity. I always had such big ambitions about delivering those things, but always ended up with huge piles in my car lol! best place for em, next to the cruppled up WT's hehe.

  Have to admit though that I did remember it being kinda funy preaching in the 80s when I was young. It was sort of a social event. On wednesday afternoons all us young girls would pile into the back of this old brother ute (he was such a perverted smuck)...by the way ute is a small truck with an open back tray for those non aussies...and we'd head out on territory (can't believe I just used that word with such ease haha). Blitzing was sorta fun, cause it meant the blocks were over and done with really quick, I used to love that

  Jehovah's Witness hope, does it remove the sting of death?

  recently i was speaking to my witness sister, and the topic of someone dying in her husband's family came up.

  she mentioned that her husband (a non-witness) has a hard time with death and will not even go back to his grandparents property, 20 years after their death, as he does not do well with the memories and death itself.

  my sister made the statement, "i explained to him that i hoped one day i could help him come to terms with death, by learning what it really is and the hope in store.

  p.s. what I hate hate hate is those funeral talks that are used as a convient time to give a preaching talk. Like she is dead, but if you want to have a bible study bla bla bla.

  oh yeah Db, I had almost forgotten about those highly inappropriate occassions that elders would used to give a plug to the org when people are feeling their most vunerable...so tacky.

  Are young JWs staying in or moving out of the borg?

  really, just wondering if new generation of dubs is mostly faithful or tempted to try it all out.

  are they faithful to the mother borg or are they starting to question it all.

  i mean 10 to 20 years ago it took ages to come across some undesirable info about the borg, but now it is everywhere.

  I think most wouldn't be confident enough to answer, and would suggest a "return visit" after they had done some research. I think most would be familiar with the term, but tuned out when the definition was being vommitted from the platform. Most jw preachers would presume that the "householder" was an ex-dub since you're up with the lingo, so they'd probably quiz you for where you heard it, and then turn on their heels and bolt. Leaving feeling rather awkward about their inadequate knowledge of dub doctrine.

  the topic on inheritance interested me because i have been thinking about it in the opposite way.

  as a former jw would you leave things to jws in your family?

  i don't mind doing it for the ones who have been nice to me in spite of me leaving the tower but i wouldn't want any money or property winding up in the hands of the tower.

  I don't know so much that I feel a grudge towards my jw family members, but I don't think I'd want to leave anything to them in my will, not that I have anything of substance to leave behind accept my very first microwave that I bought last week for a bargain price! Truth be told, it's not that I wouldn't want to share my "riches" with them, but that I wouldn't want them thinking about my never ending death, about the fact that I wasn't worthy of the "resurrection" every time they looked at something I had left behind. I would rather know that the things I left behind would inspire the people I had left them with to raise their thoughts to me about the positive and good things I did in this life, and the joyful memories of time we spent together frog

  As a jw kid we were always taken to funerals of older ones that died in the congregation. Those funerals always seemed so strange to me. Funerals should be about a time of grieving, of letting go, of realising your own mortality and appreciating the life you have while you have it. Always seemed like a bunch of people who were just living in hope, those same people you saw 5-10years later still alone and not really having moved on with their lives. A sad and terrible deception of those in a vunerable state of mind. The WT doesn't give jw's hope and peace of mind, it just makes them hold on to a fantasy. frog
