I saw it in the theatres last fall. Very outside-the box type of movie. I really enjoyed it. Very thought provoking. I look at the world differently ever since watching it. I give it my thumbs up!

What does the WTBTS make of sept. 11th?
by Bas inmy first thought was actually that the 2 prophets had arrived for the watchtower, meaning it would collapse itself in the not to distant future.. secondly i thought the watchtower would say the twin towers are the final prophets for the coming armageddon.
i'm not aware of any official communications on behalf of the wtbts regarding the subject, are there?
in fact i did stay in new york in 2000 but i only walked brooklyn bridge halfway, never made it to brooklyn.

Brooklyn HQ has a direct view to the WTC. From 124 and 30 Columbia Hgts. Straight across the river, front row seats.
My friend from Bethel told me that when the attacks happened, a bunch of ppl were gravitating toward the windows to see what was going on(naturally). After a few minutes the overseer came by and told ppl to get back to work.
There were swarms of ppl coming across the Brooklyn bridge from the Manhattan side. He told me that bethel locked all their doors.

by diamondblue1974 ini was reading the thread about the prospect of the wts releasing some new light shite about a prophecy to fulfil the fact that they are not growing and it brought back a really horrid memory, unintentional i know but horrid nonetheless.. the co visited the congregation were i was from and after the obligatory song and prayer, it was announced that the co needed to speak to us urgently on a local needs issue.
he came onto the platform his look was sombre and melancholy (nothing new there then).
he said he had an announcement from the governing body and that their had been a law passed that day which banned jw's in the uk that the usa and other world governments had notified the wts that they were to follow suit shortly.

Imagine if anyone else raised their hand to make a comment and made this remark. You would be severely counselled for spreading false rumours. But hey..it's ok if the CO does it.

Has anyone read the Book of Enoch?
by truth_about_the_truth inthis is a book supposedly written by enoch that some say was left out of the bible canon by the early church when it was being put together.. i'm in the middle of it and find it very interesting.
it gets into some fascinating details about the pre-flood world than the books in the regular bible canon.
enoch has a lot of visions which are very reminscent of revelation.

Will the Society come up with new prophecy to cover the lack of growth now?

in follow-up; for years we have heard that the org's growth was 'proof' of the 'truth'.
do you think the org will come up with some obsure scriptural/prophetic understanding to explain the reduced zeal for the 'kingdom' now?

These days, Jesus said, would be "just as the days of Noah were." Noah was called a "preacher of righteousness" and when his warning work was completed and the door of the ark was closed, there were no more disciples made from that generation. The opportunity for salvation had passed.
So, what's the point of preaching then if the door is already shut? Sounds like a catch 22 to me.

My wife was a massage therapist for a few years but stopped because of the physical strain.
You can make pretty good money though.
Just remember to pace yourself and don't burn yourself out. Your guinea pig plan sounds like a winner! Can I be a guinea pig too?

Wow metatron,
- So the Golden Dawn originates with an occult organization
- "Watchtower" was used by sorcerers of the time. (which must undoubtedly have something to do with the reference above)
And the symbol and name still stands as the 'modern day' trademark of the supposed "Jehovah's visible organization" on earth.
*sniff sniff* ...I smell something fishy
