James after an uncle. I wasn't allowed to give my kids their first names but was allowed to pick their middle ones and gave them Autumn and Storm. Lucky really that they were both girls as I had Merlin and Moonwind picked for boys.

One of the best graphic novels ever. I can't see how the movie could compete. I'll see it one day but I'm not going to pay to be disappointed. It should have been kept in it's original media, why spoil the story just so the popcorn munching masses can be spoon fed dumbed downed pap?

OK not a major life change being out more years than I was in but I still had/have a few JW hangups lurking around, silly things for the most part but reading others experiences and thoughts has given me the slap round the face and pointed them out to me. Very helpful.

Manure....
by upside/down inmanure .
in the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before the invention of commercial fertilizer, so large shipments of manure were common.
it was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas.

I'd get rid of the field service. If they didn't go out and pray on the vulnerable then we could see how many flock to gods only earthly mouthpiece.

I married a JW
by out of the box ini had stated before that i escaped a worldly abusive man and went into the 'truth'.
i got baptised after a year and then a few young men were approaching me as 'marriage' material.
when i think back i was pushed into baptism because it was time, i had been studying 'long enough' as the girl who studied with me said.. the ministerial servants came to the house 'with the perspective man' in tow.

It's been mentioned at the two JW weddings I have had the misfortune to attend that husband, wife and Jehovah form a triangle that is the most stable shape. Well it's not, its a wedge that divides and destroys. I'm sorry that you where mislead and happy that you've been able to take somthing positive away from your experiance.

Another letter from WBTS re: UN Scandal
by Gadget inquite a while ago i mentioned to my parents about the un scandal but they didn't seem too interested, but when i called in the other day my mother mentioned it to me again.
they had a elder and his wife (family friends who i was previously very very close to) staying with them for the convention and discussed it with them.
the elders wife is a very strong personality and super-spiritual but when she heard of the scandal back in spring she had a huge problem with it.

It seems to me that the orgs defence is that they were using the UN not the other way round.
In the United Nations' DPI press release regarding the WTS' association with the UN http://www.watchtowerinformationservice.org/ngo2.htm ,it states
“The principle purpose of association of non-governmental organizations with the United Nations Department of Public Information is the redissemination of information in order to increase public understanding of the principles, activities and achievements of the United Nations and its Agencies.”
Well did they?
I'll have to leave it to others with better access to WTS publications to do the more research but looking on the official WT website and doing a search for UNICEF seems to me that the WTS were not only aware of this arrangement but carrying it out.

My good lady wife has taken to watching the show and though I don't myself like that sort of thing I did catch a bit wandering in and out of the front room, or if you will lounge. The question I have that I hope will be cleared up by one of our American members is Hue Lawrie's accent, to me it sounds forced. I think I remember him using it for a book reading (I think it was a Roald Darl) and keep expecting him to carry on with the narrative in his own voice. So is his accent genuine and where in the US would you place it?
