Names given to children

what i've noticed, is that there seems to be a lot of recent jw parents who make sure to name their kids by some hebrew/biblical name.

so now you have kids running around w/names like ezekiel, reuben, isaiah, etc.

there were also a few strange names that i'm sure some of these kids would've been made fun of because of it.. have any of you noticed this?

In my cong several parents favored giving there kids biblical name.

The worst was Salome for a girl....sheesh.

my sons name is David... a very traditional Jewish name. My husband is Jewish and I think it's a beautiful name.

Holiday headship

if i tell my wife she has to help with the holidays and participate even if it's under duress she has to right?

I have read that the wife must comply, don't remember where, but if you force her into doing this she will really resent you for it. So tread carefully. Good luck

thank you so much everyone for your replies, for talking to me over the last few weeks and for some of the humour.. i believe the jws are right and that they have the truth.

Elders Apptd By Holy Spirit?

here you go, afin and other wts supporters;

1) why does the wts insist on claiming that elders are appointed under holy spirit, when it's been proven that they have been guilty of so-called unchristian behaviors?

2) can you prove that they are appointed by holy spirit?.

Elders are nothing more than just simple human beings like the rest of us, they are not perfect and make mistakes. The org is really making themselves look stupid by professing that they are appointed by the holy spirit, my dad is as close to a saint as possible and has never been an elder, yet there are others that get appointed to be elders only have to step down, lead a double life or get df'd.
