I would never claim to be a better Brooklynologist (as in Kremlinologist) than you given that you were a member of the org while I never was.
But respectfully I would point out that there is a major difference between the 1995 generation change and ANY doctrinal change made today, and that is that ANYTHING they do or say is coming under further scrutiny and is seen more in the light of day. Any change has to be primed FAR more than it ever was in the past... no matter how minor.
I think announcing 1995 today would kill the org.
You are probably right about most not even thinking about 1935. On the other hand they do need to do something about all these annointed that just never seem to die off. Did you notice that when you were in the org? It is one of those tick-tock tick-tock doctrines like the generation that would not pass away.
I personally am having loads of fun forcing a couple of jw's I know to explain to me in excruciating detail just how we know that the NT was written exclusively to the annointed. They are almost in pain when I force them to say it out loud.

But seriously.... I think we all sense that there is some new light in the works... They seem to be priming the sheep to accept some new light. If I had to venture a guess, it would be related to the annointed being closed off in 1935. First of all it has absolutely NO basis in scripture. And obviously there can't be an unlimited number of the 144000 who fell away, unless the ones that replace the ones who fell away then themselves fall away... unless you just get to like ten unfillable slots where these rotten bastards just keep falling away and so do their replacements...
That one has got to go!
Maybe a good Armageddon scare is a good way to get the drones a little more committed before they tell them some "teaching" they have been yammering about for about a century was completely off.... we wouldn't want that to imply that they don't have Jah's direction.

Well I have alot of connections at Bethel, and I can confirm that there WILL in fact be a shocking announcement sometime in September in the Kingdom Ministry.
If you have inside info on a change in doctrine PLEASE do tell.
I would LOVE to get all the dubs I know to commit in the strongest and utmost terms that the existing light is "just what the Bible says".
Then when the change comes I will say nothing... I will only ask "so how was the meeting?"

I think these are the usual mind tricks to keep the dubs motivated they have said numerous times that the big A is just round the corner in recent years and now they are making it more dramatic "a shocking announcement in September", there will probably be nothing announced during that month.
So here you are, head of a creepy cult. You might believe you really are the head of God's organization, maybe you don't. But you do notice that the numbers of people buying into the silly notion that you really ARE chosen by God are dwindling. Can't have that! That would imply that you really aren't chosen by God! That would either mean that you your entire egomaniacal worldview is about to collapse or you are going to start running out of money or both.
So what do you do? Well the number one charmer that always worked in the past was the whole "hey we got the inside skinny that Armageddon is imminent". It really does work like a charm. So many people will sign up for it as a way to seek shelter from the world around. And even if it doesn't come true, not that many leave out of disgust, rather they become more dedicated! That way they don't have to face the awful truth that they are suckers! The need to be consistent can keep a sucker at the black jack table long after he has lost the mortgage, and keep a dufus in a doomsday cult way past the armegeddon date.
The problem with this trick is that it damages your credibility to future would be minions. You got to get them hooked before their friends and family find out what a silly bunch of bastards you are. And with the internet and information becoming so accessible it is really hard to push the armageddon button to often.
So the trick is to say you know armageddon is here, without sticking your neck out to far and leaving all sorts of evidence you said such a thing... "plausible deniability" is the phrase you learn from those evil worldy governments!
But even that is getting harder with all these wascally apostates quoting you in print and even putting tapes of convention and assembly talks!
Hey I know... lets start a rumor! Just have a few uber-minions give a talk here and there about how Armageddon is going to happen this year! It will spread like wildfire among the tired, huddled masses out in service, yearning to be free. They will be inspired to go out in service more and sell this silly rumor!!! We could start a special campaign to really stoke the fires of desperation among the desperate. Then when New Years Day comes, and the little dubbies are sitting around drinking their coffee since everyone else on the planet is hung over and wouldn't answer their door, they will have a moment of clarity. They will think, "hey, Armageddon didn't come!!!"
But quickly their mind will recover and they will remind themselves that they didn't really believe it... just like they didn't think the end was going to come in 1975! And the society didn't say that it was going to come.... and they are just imperfect men anyway...

And the head of the creepy cult, boosts his numbers and consoles himself that the numbers came up for the year even though deep in the burrows of his diseased mind he realizes that this gimmick is losing it's effectiveness, that the religion itself is intellectually bankrupt and cannot engage in any open rational debate rather it relies on threats and pathetic cries of apostate to control information and silence dissent....

by carla init seems they can't research any of the scandals or misquotes, etc... not only because you may have to use apostate books or sites or even non apostate info but because the mere idea came from apostates.
how else you would you even think to look into the un, misquotes or any other of the numerous problems?
no need to confuse yourself with the truth.. still banging head against wall,.

Well I disagree in the sense that you may have employed your brains, but only with thoughts that were given to by others.
Somehow you got one of yours in there somewhere that made the programmed thoughts fall apart.... abort? retry? fail?
Seems like the fat lady sang? Nah not for me. It sings for me on graduation day of my youngest. I will hold out for her since I have to protect my children anyway. If she is still a drone on that day, I will hand her papers. On that day I go back to living for me, and living my life the way I intended. Not the way I was misled into.
In a sense though I guess it has sung. Something has died for me, and that is my vision of what our marriage was or what I thought I was to her. I realize I am a paycheck, an emotional ego booster, a hard-on, a repairman, a father to both my children and children whom I did not father... but not a spiritual father.
I am not fit for that job because I think God's approval comes through faith in Christ rather than a publishing company. The elders can fill in for that while I am at work paying attention to all those irrelevant "non-spiritual things". That way she can not work and has time to pay attention to all those "spiritual things".
So as long as I fulfill those needs for her, everything is cool with her. How I feel about any of that is irrelevant unless it effects my ability to perform the above mentioned duties. Yeah the fat lady sang. I will give her the chance to start a new show, but on graduation day... lights out.

Your faith is in PEOPLE!!! Your faith believes that salvation requires that you join with the right group of imperfect men. They are your mediator.
My faith is in Christ who alone is the mediator between men and God. I don't need to be "governed" by a "body" of flawed PEOPLE.
