time definitely goes by faster when having fun, you are so absorbed in what you are doing that time doesn't matter. I had a job where time zoomed by it seemed anyway. Often times got to work and then told its time to go home and clock out, I had been so busy and so occupied that i hadn't even taken a break or even gone to lunch time just shot by. I at times thought well it must be break time, then looked at the clock and saw that I had 3-5 minutes before clocking out, I enjoyed that kind of work, not drudgery at all. Going to meetings makes it seem like time just drags by, the same ole same ole, nothing new under the sun, and we the anointed, are the greatest. shades of Ali if you ask me.

I am all for having tax exempt entities religion or otherwise having to show just where the money goes. The borg is having local congregations have a $$$ part each month supposedly showing where the money is spent. But why doesn't the Society have to show just where the money goes that they receive and use (supposedly) I really think someone somewhere is getting $$$$ out of this deal.

Holy misapplication of scripture Batman!
by Metamorphosis indon't know who else has to still suffer through meetings from time to time - but something struck me during last nights (thursday 12/6/07) final part from the km.
the part was on sharing our kingdom hope or something.
they list a scripture from hebrews 6 to start and end the km article and also one from ephesians 2. the whole context of those chapters in the bible is our hope in jesus and his ransom sacrifice and intervention as high priest.

It's typical of them, always putting themselves in the place of Jesus.

Does paradise still seem attractive to you?
by Hiddenwindow indo you think paradise, as depicted by the watchtower, an everlasting life praising jehovah and playing with what we now know as wild animals, not to mention cultivating a piece of land, is really a desirable place?
bear in mind that there is no reference to science and that personal goals are non-existent..

let's hope that this is somehow a step toward making all religions pay property tax just like everyone else. I have to pay taxes on my home, why don't they have to pay taxes on theirs's, seems fair to me.

Dawg, you have to solicit repsonses from the illegals, they all must think G. Bush is going a good job, look he lets those guarding our borders be arrested and imprisoned for doing their jobs, he quivers ahd shakes over giving the illegals every break he can. I'm quite sure they will all agree that he has done a good job.
As for Joe Biden, his making statements like that just goes to show how stupid he can really be, is he now in charge of the House of Reps., not the last i heard, and it takes the house to start an impeachment. oH by the way Joe you have to have legal grounds.

visit from witnesses at the door, they made me so mad
by nelly1 ini had witnesses knock on my door yesterday, oh man talk about deluded, those of you can read my posts from the past to see my story, but when they asked me what religion i was i said x jw not dissed or dissassociated, i breifly told them a few home truths including the short version of how i was treated in the org, this dummy obviously an elder and his wife stood there and said, i can promise you that it is most likely if you come back that wont happen to you again, the arrogance!!!!
i said to them you cannot stand there and say that, sheesh who do they think they are, they dont know what i went through or what kind of wolves lurk in the cong i was in, i told them i had read ray franz book and i said you wont know any of the truths about brooklyn because you are not allowed to look on the net or read anything non jw.. the wife said yes we can we just dont look at apostate websites, i nearly laughed at her, she said to me ray franz was only dissfellowshipped because he went against the scriptures, grrrrrrrrrrrrr they make me so mad, they read me scriptures i already know etc and tried to justify some of the things that happened to me.
oh man dont you just want to scream sometimes???

Visits are opportunities, You could have said something In my religion (har har) we have a set of individuals who dictate to everyone in the religions. but I am confused Didn't jeremiah 10:23 say that it does not beling to man even to lead his own steps or something like think, look slightly confused when you say it, and then add doesn't psalms 146:3 tell us not to put our trust in men also? They will probably try and answer with their bs but who knows maybe it might put a idea in their heads; especially if you follow and end with If we aren't suppose to be able to lead ourselves how is it that some religions say we are to put trust in them which is directly against the biblical teaching don't you agree?????

Donations for literature I would spend at Mc Donald's!!! Sorry!!!
by Witness 007 inin my last 2 years in field service in australia tax laws meant we could no longer offer publications for money or directly ask for a donation.
if the householder asks, we would explain our voluntry work was paid for by donations.
i was suprised how many people would give you $10 or $20 dollars thinking it's going to some good cause....however, i would go and buy some lunch at mc donald's.

Local economic needs, world wide work, building donations, it all adds up and the society wants more and more of your money, they want us to donate for the literature we get and peddle out in the door to door salesmanship game, and yet bitch if there isn't enough money "donated" to the WWW., what a bunch of scammers. Its all about the money, rutherford saw he could hoodwink the mindless take over thier congregations have the monies coming to him (err the society) and take full control over their property also. Its always been about the money and the hold on captive people who aren't smart enough to see that its a cult money making scam.
