the one highlight for me is no. 1 "it wastes good witnessing time"
after taking a group into maccas for tea and coffee etc after witnessing one day, i was hauled into the dreaded back room, where i was told not to do this as the dubs would only go witnessing for the expected (social,christian,upbuilding,encouraging,fellowship) visit to maccas and by going there we wasted time we could have worked untill at least 1 pm.
so glad im free. mr alw
i started uni doing a ba the year after i left the dubs.
then i got pregnant & married, & still continued ... i have just finished my honours year in history - i did a thesis on why the dubs were banned in australia during ww2.
talk about full circle!
just wanted to tell everyone how much i love this forum but never had balls to join in.
now that i'm officially dfd i can do whatever i like.

i have been a regular visitor to this forum for the past 2 years or so, finally i got the courage to register.. you guys are an inspiration , your stories and experiences have helped me to take a stand against this controlling org.. in short, i was raised from birth as a jw, parents are from the old school very much hard liners, the society is their god.
is expected of you, get baptised as a teenager become a ms then elder.
i always had my doubts about the society and its teachings but was.

Enjoy your time here - as you have realised people here are willing to help, commisserate, empathise and comfort - everything we are all desperate for - plus the genuine guidance and love - not conditional either. There are lots of people here with words of wisdom gained through a lot of emotional stress and trauma - hopefully we can all gain that insight without having to go through too much crap!!! yep, it's my birthday today and i'm having fun.

hey guys, after my post uni exam blues on saturday morning (i was having a bad morning as it was) i walked out of building and who should i run into but one of the guys from the jd committee that ousted me back in may 03!...he was also my last b/study conductor.
i've moved states, and a fair way from the cong i was in back then, but apparently this guy has also moved here and is studying law at my university!
...since then (since saturday) i have run into him on 2 seperate occassions, including when i jumped off the bus this morning coming to university grrrrrr.
i feel like a lightening bolt has just crashed down on this house.
i taped the 'sunday' programme and had promised it to our children to watch.
mr alw was watching it for the first time tonight and then we had an electrical blackout.

I could scream - has anyone out there got a copy of the programme!!!! Perhaps we have been sent a deadly blow (lightening bolt) - I don't believe in anything like that but it makes you think - really scarey!!! It's really annoying as I was sure I recognised "Julie" and was hoping my daughter could verify my suspicions - if you are out there "Julie" we are thinking of you along with all the other victims. Help please ............alw
