I've not read the WT article in its entirety. However, it seems disturbingly like Rutherford's vitriolic diatribes. ()

with the recent wt articles stressing how "new light" has appeared over the decades, this article is geared towards making sure individuals are active within the organization in order to ensure their survival.. this article is taken from e-watchman's discussion board, this is not my article.. .

just got a hold of the new may 15, 2006 watchtower containing the study article, "are you prepared for survival?

(a) why is it difficult to find acceptable recreation?
q 6, 7. what can help you decide what is acceptable or unacceptable.
9 at times, christians ask: "what is acceptable recreation?
6 How can we be sure that a certain form of recreation is acceptable for a Christian? Parents provide guidance for their children, and elders help as needed.
It would appear that the Pharisaical WTS could not bring themselves to simply write: Be certain to run to the Rabbi Elders for a binding answer.
Really, though, it should not be necessary for others to tell us that a particular book, movie, game, dance, or song is unacceptable. Paul said that "mature people ... through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong." (Hebrews 5:14; 1 Corinthians 14:20) The Bible sets forth guiding principles. Your conscience, trained by God's Word, will help you it you listen to it.-1 Timothy 1:19.
How very true. Nevertheless, despite the counsel at Ephesians 4:11-15, the Society attempts to keep its adherents forever as "spiritual Babes".
my 'worldly' friend told me this the other day and i thought it was pretty funny.
jdubs are like mushrooms they are kept in the dark and fed sh!t.. .
okay your turn- witnessess are like:.
"Lobotomized members of an evil, family-destroying cult."
Well, that isn't a simile. It's just a definition.
Next: Witnesses are like:
i just finished reading this book.
i've got to say, that last chapter was amazing and so inspiring.
i haven't felt that good after reading a book in a long time.
Ray remained a member of the GB even though he lived it and saw first hand all their hypocrisy! He lived through it all yet he did not leave the Organization.
Ray after leaving Bethel moved to Alabama and attended a JW congregation so faithfully that the body of elders there wanted to appoint him an elder in their congregation! He remained a faithful JW throughtout all the problems and all the hyprocrisy and anti-Christian behavior of the GB. He did not, as many who have read his books did, leave on his own because of some "crisis of conscience" but rather he needed to be thrown out ...... then his crisis came.....
I asked Ray about this. He responded that the situation at Bethel had moved too quickly for him to have had sufficient time to explain personally to his many friends his own views, and so he was essentially buying time to help his friends while he could, before they would feel it impossible to speak with him. He noted that his comments at the meetings at Gadsen were simply to quote appropriate scriptures in the hope that others might see the discrepancies between the Bible and official WTS dogma. Likewise in Field Service, his aim was not to place Watchtower literature, but to encourage people to look to the Bible as an Authority.
I found this a reasonable response because I also remained a member in good standing (i.e. did not leave) for a considerable period of time after coming to the conclusion that the WTS is emphatically NOT the "one true Faith", and for much the same reason as did Ray. There were certainly many others in the past who did likewise; there are still many who have not yet left in order to assist their relatives and friends.
does anyone remember about how long it takes for the number of memorial attendees as well as the count of partakers to be announced to the public?
for the life of me i can not remember.
i am certain that those numbers are not held back until the yearbook.
Maybe they are fudging the numbers and the partakers are even higher than the numbers they dare to post.
Whether or not they are "fudging" the numbers at Bethel, the number of Partakers necessarily is considerably higher than the posted numbers, because the Bodies of Elders are reluctant to validate one's profession of Anointing "so late (post-1935!) in this soon-to-pass-away System of Things" and so not infrequently simply do not count an individual as anointed whom they (as Other Sheep) have determined not to be anointed. The Society's official figures also clearly do not include anyone who "unofficially" partakes privately after the Memorial at the KH, a not uncommon practice among the Christians who still attend at the KH, but do not wish to be the objects of adverse gossip.
as you are all aware i am new to the board, this is my third topic post.
since i have come online and expressed some concerns regarding docturnal issues, i have been pm'd by several active jw's on the board pretending to have concerns also but then sending pm's to "trust in the congregation and jevovah", "talk to the elders about your concerns" and "stick close to the congregation".
i would like to make this known loud and clear -
Justitia,
According to the QfR in the 01. April 1986 Watchtower (pp. 30,31), your lack of acceptance of the appointment of the F&DS and your unwillingness to believe that our Lord Christ Jesus was enthroned in the Heavens in 1914 are both grounds for disfellowshiping. This is true whether or not you voice your beliefs regarding such. According to the WatchTower Bible and Tract Society, you are already 'no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses'.
Welcome, dear Sister.
i am looking for a creative or a usaul way to get my turn at being disfellowshipped.
i was a witness that married a 'worldly' guy.
so, basically i can do anything i want and not get disfellowshipped.
Send everyone in the congregation except the Elders a letter explaining why you feel the WTS is not the "one, true channel", but don't say that you are DA'ing; instead write that the lies and unscriptural policies of the WTS have invalidated your baptism. (There is, in fact, a WT article from 1958 which discusses baptism being invalid if the baptismal candidate had improper or insufficient knowledge at the time of the baptism...) Then the Elders will come after you and everyone will know that it is a vendetta.
"the glory which is built upon a lie soon becomes a most unpleasant incumbrance.
how easy it is to make people believe a lie, and how hard it is to undo that work again".- mark twain .
i just wanted to say hi to my witness sister if she is snooping around this websight to try to prove that my family and me are really bad and sad----everybody say hi!.
Hi, M. D. !!!!!
Greetings from the wife and myself.
Say "hi" to Lance for us.
there i am, saturday morning, 9am, having a coffee with my kids, hair very messy, no make up, pj's on still, and they show up!
why do they never phone first and make an appointment?
i have asked them to do this but they won't comply.
in my latest post in my story, i recounted how my dad and another elder made attendance at high school sports events a no-no.
in retrospect, i don't recall anything in print that made attendance at local sporting events a shepherding offense.
maybe my memory is faulty.. did your boe make rules like this?.
