Hi Camero-d, in answer to your question, I believe that possibly a lot of groups along with the Watchtower make up a great "deluding influence" (NASB), that detract people from the real truth which is Salvation by grace and through Christ alone. Just my oppinion. seek2find

New understanding
by elder-schmelder indoes anyone have any idea's on what the next new understading could be.
i think that it might be that they are going to make the 144,000 a symbolic number not a actual number.
could it be making a new date for the start of the last days?.

Along with Sacolton's scripture I contribute the following: 2Th 2:11 "So God will send great deception upon them, and they will believe all these lies." (NLT) Things aren't likely to change much. I feel that a massive collapse of the organization may occur in our life times, I just hope and pray it's not as big or bigger than what happened to Jim Jones and his followers in 1978. seek2find

MY PROJECT IS (FINALLY) FINISHED!
by Mary infor those of you who are interested, the project i've been working on for the last few months is finally finished.
i originally did a thread about it back in april: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/156497/1.ashx.
it seems that alot of us still have family members in the religion and have not infrequent arguments with them about some of the beliefs and practices.

Count me in! My situation is like Paul spoke of at Philippians 3:8 and I agree wholeheartedly with his words. This is the message in the song by 3rd day called "Nothing Compares". If you're not familiar with it bring it up on youtube. It's great especially the live version. seek2find

Dear VS, I'm glad to see your still reading. I have some advise for you. Go slow, but keep eyes and ears open. I'm in a situation similar to yours and have been for over 10 years. I'm a 3rd generation witness (Now ex-witness) I was recently disfellowshipped for apostasy just because I said to much in a private conversation and it lead to a JC hearing. Nothing else besides 100% loyalty is expected by the elders. Please don't lose faith in God. Some of the people who post here and other places on the internet have left belief in God all together. In my opinion, that is a big mistake. Please pray for help and support to do the right thing. I Hope the best for you, seek2find

10/15/08 WT - (Finally) seeing the light on out of context quotes?
by sir82 inin the 10/15/08 wt, page 16, there is a very small filler article on a 15th century german cardinal who used the name "jehovah" (or its equivalent in 15th century german, at least) in a sermon he wrote.
sorry, no scanner.. anyway, part of that sermon he wrote, in which he references the name "jehovah", is quoted.
but wait a minute, what's this?

I think what Blondie was saying, (correct me if I'm wrong Blondie) Was that the Society knew what was coming in internet technology and figured they better get something ready that would give their version of things that had mostly been covered up before. The strategy didn't work to good because they sanitized it so heavily, it left people wanting more, which they found once the internet took off. seek2find

I'd really like to sit down and have a cup of coffee with Grace (Mouthy) I watched the clip of her testimony on exjwvideos on you tube done several years back and she seemed like the type of person I'd like to get to know and learn from. seek2find

It's kinda like how when you have been driving all night and are extremely tired and someone else volunteers to take over and drive for you. Then you can relax and have confidence in your friend to get you there safely. A great feeling. Good topic thanks for starting it. seek2find

Anybody remember when southern congregations were integrated?
by Texman55 inas i think i recall, this happened in the fall of 1972. i was living in atlanta at the time, where it was a nonissue, there was a very pretty black girl who was very popular in the congo there.
but back in my much smaller hometown, there were still black congregations when i started studying in 1970....totally separate khs, totally separate circuit assemblies.
not sure if they had a separate co...probably not.. in fact my great uncle, the eccentric old guy nobody in my family had much to do with....been a jw for ages but not very popular in the kh either....had a little house directly across the street.....moody, cranky old cuss, but very independent thinker too in a weird kind of russelite way....he got df'd around that time and i think it had something to do with the integration issue.

I grew up in a white only congregation, and remember when the announcement was made that the congregations were to integrate. Most everyone welcomed the change, although there were a few that grumbled. It seems like the ban on smoking cause more problems than integration. I think most of the witnesses knew that segregation wasn't right. The Black folks put a lot of life into the congregation, and was overall a positive thing. seek2find

Hi I was just wondering the other day what happened to you. Just a small thing, but if you are able to edit your blog you might want to change the scripture to Matt. 24:45 instead of Matt 24:14. seek2find
