well, during the cannyfest we had a spell when sat around a room 'book study style' (we're so used to that, eh?
) and we actually came up with this weekend's weekend poll.

12. Other (please detail) - to be perfectly honest when I saw people partaking I used to think they were up themselves! You could see people in the congregation straining to watch the person partake and you just knew they were getting a real kick out of the attention to. It was just another rung in the ladder of setting themselves up to better than the run of the mill publishers.

satanus was on his way through calgary today, and i met him this morning for coffee.
it was a great time!.
this was a new thing for me, since i am but only recently apostasized and deconverted.
I'll vouch for that. Tetra is just lovely!!! One of my personal fav's...
We used to have the strange people in our congregation calling on peoples doors.
There was this one brother in my congretation who I gave the name John Scary. Because he was soooo weird.
I remember he used to get some unsuspecting householder and PRACTICALLY read the entire magazine to them... We had a pioneer bro who told it like it was. He told John Scary not to do that and if he did it again he would leave him at the door. Well sure enough next opportunity he gets... BANG he's off on his spiel again. So Pioneer just goes in the middle of it "I warned you not to do that. I've had enough of you. Your on your own" and up'd and left right there and then. John Scary was so angry and embarrassed (when he emerged 1/2 an hour later) but he never did it again... He later became a dreaded apostate! shudder....!
Some of them honestly to have the very best intentions. My mum helps anyone who needs the help, regardless of their social status, their history (d's, d'a etc), their mental health etc etc. She gives her time, her money, she lends what she can. She prepares every study, she is active. She has very poor health but suffers for her religon.
It breaks my heart. This is never reciprocated to her. I wish she would wake up and smell the roses.

when i was new to message board posting, i once got a little to involved with the people and found myself sucked into debate and people getting all grouped up in support of one another.
yet, i had never met anyone on the message board.
until one day, one of the people who debated me the most mentioned where he worked and it was in a town about two hours away.
I can't say I have ever met another poster except for online.
But your experience is a good thing to keep in mind. I am curious to know of any others....

I remember googling JW's quite some years ago when I was still a diehard one... I came across some apostate sites. I was curious and read a little but then got scared and never googled again until about March of this year when I was well & truly OUT... phew!
