What would you put in Room 101?

for those of you that do not know what this is- room 101 is a place where you can bannish forever all the things that really annoy you.

the only requisite is that you have to justify why you want to put that 'thing' in room 101.

(if anyone can explain it better, please go ahead!).

I'd like to put my colleague in there. He has really p*ssed me off right now.

Gave us some cock & bull story yesterday about having had a headache for a month and needed to go home early. As he left I suggested a trip to the oncologist might be in order. I then went through the spam filters (part of my job) and found that he was in fact going out to meet a friend and they were off to take pingers and relating how much fun they had the night before getting bent. Seriously if you want to take drugs then do it on your own time. And don't come into work coming down. It just means I have to do YOUR share of the work.

This morning he rang up stuttering and sound distinctly like he was coming down saying that he had vomited from his headache yesterday and gone to hospital and now had a throat infection from the vomiting. I said fine whatever.. and hung up.

I hate being lied to. I hate that he thinks we are all stupid we would gullibly fall for his lies.

i get a lot of attention from the average passerby and i got to thinking, what kind of reaction would somebody get from wearing one to a meeting [do you think]?

You'd probably get counselled for drawing attention to your self and not being humble and all that hoo hah...

Are You Still Affected By Guilt?

do you still feel any guilt for celebrating a birthday or holiday or associating with "worldly" people or doing anything that the watchtower has inculcated as being wrong???

I still feel awkward singing happy birthday. However I get a real kick out of being involved in these celebrations.

I do feel guilty when my mum knows I am celebrating xmas & birthdays with my boyfriend and friends.... But I feel like i have to tell her. I am not going to hide what i am doing...

I can't stand that 'hooray another earthquake' thing

i think that motherdarling actually likes to hear about earthquakes, especially the ones that cause a lot of death.

i don't know why she's so excited about terrorist bombings and hurricanes though, they're not mentioned in matthew except for the faint out of fear thing.

i saw a website once with exact stats on eathquakes in the last few centuries and was delighted to learn that they only seem to have increased because of the increased population in areas where they occur and the more sophisticated technology detecting small shudders and movement in seabeds etc.

I know exactly what you mean. It seems like the focus of the dubbies is that the latest natural disaster is an indication that its almost armaggedon. They are so caught up in looking for signs and fulfillment of prophecies they seem to gloss over the devestation that is caused. Loss of lives, homes, injuries... etc etc.

My mum is still a die hard JW and you can see that she gets a real kick out of anything mentioned in the bible as a sign of the end. It really tears me up because it just demonstrates a major lack of sympathy for the victims.

To JW's elder's wives. Did your elder husband ever have an affair with JW?

i was very naive as a jw child and young adult growing up.

i thought jw were perfect especially jw elders.

i did whatever they said because i thought they were appointed by jehovah and jesus.

I was never a JW elder wife but I feel I can comment on this subject.

We had an elder in our congregation who lived in the same street as us. We always were looked after by him sometimes I felt we got special consideration.

Fast forward, I'm living out of home in a different congregation. My mother is starting to act completely out of character. I mean she is kooky already but now shes been completely odd. She was going off for weekends away and disappearing and whatnot. Several things she said made me wonder if she was having an affair with this elder. Eventually I voiced my worst fears and she confirmed it. They were having an affair.

Well my whole world came crumbling down. My mother had cheated on my dad (who was currently undergoing cancer treatment mind you). An elder who I looked at as my spiritual father figure (dad was never a JW) had betrayed our trust. I was just plain devestated. I can't begin to tell you the range of emotions I went through.

The BOE eventually found out. Mum & elder got disphellowshipped. I got in trouble for not doing anything about it. I was told I was a silly little girl. I was in my early 20s then. But I seriously didn't know what to do. I was just trying to cope with the situation. I will never forgive my mother for that. The elder is dead now so I don't have to worry about forgiving him.

Chronicles - Don't Touch His Ear Lobe!

so here i was a ridiculously naive girl of around 25 years.

i was living interstate attending meetings, witnessing and making new friends in the congregation.

i got on great with a brother 'g'.

Hey Bliss....

Darn it... I was all set for an ear lobe fondling with the boyfriend next time as well. I had no idea you found that sort of behaviour unacceptable. I mean you of the hair brushing against poor brothers faces... Your hardly in a position to talk now are you!

Loved Saturday as well.... I'll see if we can't get you and Mr Bliss over for dinner in the next week or so.

Chronicles - Streaking at the Convention

we had a family with a single mother in the congregation bringing up 4 active and naughty boys.

(one of the boys was my best friend...).

single mum suffered from some emotional issues and it was well known in the congregation.

Reveal something "weird" or "unusual" about yourself

whatever i drink from the fridge, i put it into the microwave for 10 seconds so that it won't be too cold to drink.. .

whenever i drink ice cold liquids, it irritates my tongue/mouth and often triggers a sore throat.

now you have additional proof that i'm weird .

I hold my pen the wrong way... Like in some weird type of monkey grip or something. The teachers tried to get me to hold my pen/cil the right way but I have terrible penmanship when I do. So I just hold it the way that feels natural for me....

Well there was the one I mentioned in my thread yesterday. She streaked at one of the conventions...

And there was another one. He was quite elderly, widowed and originally came from Europe. He had survived a concentration camp and was one of the annointed. Both of these things ensured that he got a lot of attention. After a falling out with his BOE he didn't want to be in their congregation anymore. Rumour had it that he felt he was not respected enough by his local BOE. So he remarried to a sister in my congregation. He was quite the novelty because the cong hadn't had an 'anointed' person in it before. Until he decided he didn't like the sister anymore divorced her and moved back to the original congregation. I remember at the time how scandalous it was that an annointed person got a divorce but people seemed reluctant to say much about it...
