A little off topic... but....
My friend (fading JW) is leaving to Pakistan on Friday. He is a paramedic and he is voluteering for 3 weeks providing medical aid. It involves going to the villages/areas affected by the earthquake and seeking out victims. A lot of them have not been able to get to medics and medics to them since the quake. It's going to be such a rewarding experience for him. Much more rewarding then distributing JW propoganda...

Its a great show! (I don't remember the hogan family so can't comment if its the same guy) but i love the wit in arrested development.

i watched a really interesting documentary on ex mormons last night.
these were mormons who were gay or lesbian or were related to gay or lesbian ex mormons and had been themselves.. the main subject was an australian woman who had been raised a mormon for her teenage years.
when she was 12 her mother married a newly converted mormon and they joined as well.

I think the point that was coming across in the doco was that she told her mother and HER MOTHER claimed that. She just didn't want to believe that it could have happened. And she ended up shunning her daughter in the long term.
I think the similarity here between dubs and mormons is that they just don't want to believe that anything like that could possibly happen within their own church. I am not familiar with child abuse scandals in the mormon church either. I guess my point is what I stated above.

Excellent point doodle-v... Actually this is a common theme with JW's. Someone posted a pic last week about them going on about a balanced view of the internet (or something like that) and the illustration they used was a guy with a laptop and what do you suppose he had beside him? A lit cigarette. Its all about the subliminal messages in the art that they hope to implant in the sheeps heads as well as the text.
can someone give me some feedback on what they would do in this situation:.
last weekend my best friends husband told me that three years ago he caught (and spied on for about half an hour) my husband and my very best friend "getting hot and heavy" (his words) in our spa and that he watched them because "he found it hot".
the three of them decided that they would not tell me and kept it a secret for the last three years until he told me (because he was drunk at the time).

Not at all pathetic and definately not uncommon. This is a common feeling amongst people who were raised as JW's. After so much deciet you find yourself being wary of accepting anyone/thing.
Its definately not your fault Kaylen. Your husband was in the wrong. So was your best friend. Try not to make excuses for them. I know its hard. But you are being more than reasonable on the matter.
You may possibly find that if you talk to your best friend she will give an entirely different reaction than you got from your hubby. You just don't know pet. Be brave!
