Freddie Franz once said baptism is not a denomonational affair, so it didnt matter which religion baptised you, as long as it was by full immersion. The only reason he was baptised whilst a JW was because his presbyterian baptism had been by sprinkling. Now they wouldnt have changed such biblical teaching, would they?

I have a question
by Es inhey all i was chatting with a friend the other day he is baptized but basically a fader but his wife is still very much in the borg.anyway we were talking bout the new way of announcing d\f and d\a.
and he raised a really goo point.
the fact that they now announce such and such is no longer a jw does that mean if that person wanted to back to the borg they would have to be baptized again to make them a jw????

I grew up on the Daniel book, I was an adventist. Blame me, it was the adventists that taught all that stuff to Russell that started all this. Except we stuck with the original wrong date in the 1800s, wheras the JWs kept changing the wrong dates.

So you are saying JWs are associated in some way with the House of God? -

There are excellent responses on here. What is there to explain? Unfortunately JWs are far more superstitious than the vast majority of people, but its disguised as something else.
Having said all that, and remaining the ultimate skeptic, I have had cause to wonder how far the human brain could evolve given time, and wonder whether some form of telepathic activity is feasible. This is the only exception I allow myself to consider to rational explanations for everything. That is because of a couple of experiences in my family, which might however be explainable. And maybe our memories have played some tricks.

The Love Is So Different
by Honesty induring my 15 years as a jw compared to the 'pagan' church i am now a member of the love is like 'night and day' in comparison.
no wonder jesus said that a person would know his followers by the love they showed.
i am gonna stick around where real love is a part of life instead of where it is a front for a demon inspired cult that calls itself 'the truth'.

how they would react if you told them you no longer agree with what they teach, and that you feel no need to accept Jesus as your Saviour, and instead desire to become a Buddhist. Would their love be so loving then? I could be wrong, Honesty, but it is likely you are loved for what you currently believe, rather than who you are. Little different from what we were exposed to as Witnesses. Though, for your sake, I honestly hope it is genuine.
Hi,Your view is similar to that of James Thomas and I have experience of people converting to Buddhism and Atheism, and the love has remained the same, although of course the fellowship has ceased, but not neccesarily the friendship. Are you really unaware that many millions of Christians love people whatever their beliefs. Wow, the Watchtower has done a good job.

who asked about Chav?
Suddenly the world has discovered this slang word. I was brought up in the slums of Newcastle where we used this word to describe each other (street urchins) in an affectionate sort of way. But we pronounced it differently more like charva, it was almost a term usedout of friendly respect, a bit like bro, nothing more really.
The pronunciation and meaning have been slightly distorted as the term seems to have been discovered/resurrected nationwide and beyond. I'm an original charva, I suppose, yet my folks were not on benefits & stuff.
I do not know where it originates from. Have any other Brits here heard of this word before the last couple of years. If not I do suspect it comes from Geordieland.

What is JW teaching about the kingdom?
by jaffacake inafter todays study, i'm unclear about teaching about the kingdom.
is it the same as those who expect the second coming of christ to rule for a thousand years etc.
or is it here now, since 1914. are their 2 kingdoms, or 2 phases of the kingdom?

Thought I had better clarify. Not having been a JW, I am genuinely confused about the official teaching, and would appreciate a very brief clarification. Just in case anyone thought I was being sarcastic

Sorry but I've seen better & more convincing stuff that was later explained.
What do we really know about when, where, for how long, what degree of editing, what would help ratings of the channel, how and by whom was the venue & timing really decided. When the TV folks say they chose day & venue, what were the circumstances, d they mean he gave them say 2 or 3 options to choose from. No way man, I've seen this stuff all my life. Decidedly unimpressed, unless it were done under proper conditions. That Randi guy would expose him.
Sorry, I just dont believe in magic, or demons.
