i seemed to have a problem with the people there because i am outspoken.

(and this was all before i had any clues to how bad the whole thing was.

I also had a similar problem to yours. When commenting at the bookstudy or WT meeting I sometimes brought out a point or fact related but not mentioned in the paragraph. This seemed to piss some people off as though they resented me for being too smart or well-read. Once, years ago a sister asked me if I did a lot of personal study or did I have this knowledge before I came in! I guess she was trying to determine what category to put me in!

My biggest problem though was the fact that some people were threatened by my brain and my mouth. I tried to analyze it once after a particular situation years back and surmised that some people may have an agenda (in other words they are full of you-know-what) and I guess they are afraid I will expose them, or not be in sympathy or something.

You mentioned people who were rude and nasty and ripped people to shreds. I wonder if any of them were elderly pioneers or anointed? It seems that nastiness will be tolerated from certain people as though age has given them the privilege. There is a certain brother in my hall (I can't give too many details). Well, he's not all there if you know what I mean and I was out in a car group with him and he said some nasty things to me which confirmed my suspicions that I was talked about and being panned by the busybodies there. Of course, he, being stupid gave it all away. I told him off and I would never speak to him again. What I really can't forgive is the mean spirited gossip that is all pervasive there.

I had several problems over the years with "friends" because something I said always offended somebody. It got to the point that I used to keep my mouth shut in car groups, etc. We used to hear how "we should season our words with salt" etc. I know we should be tactful but what I noticed with them was they were always ready to use your tact against you. Tact only works with other persons who are tactful. If a tactful person goes up against a person who does not have tact the person without the tact would run over the tactful person like a bulldozer.

I came to the conclusion there that truth in any form (religious or otherwise) cannot be tolerated by many people there because it would shatter their bubble of fantasy. But there was only so much of being phony that my personality could tolerate.

The JWs worst aspects for you are?

which jw doctrines, collective personality traits and general history do you find to be the most destructive or disagreeable?

i personally found the doctrine of the other sheep which makes the christ inaccesible to most jws, the devilishly complicated moral code, and the hideously totalitarian behaviour of their leadership to be the worst things on a long list that i've prepared regarding what's unacceptable to me in that society.

i remember when i was arguing with the elders about the fds and their claim to total spiritual supremacy and they were telling me that the idea of democracy departs completely from their way of thinking, here they have a theocracy and that even "talking about the right things at the wrong time" is basically a crime in other words sit and wait for the fds to reveal it at the so called right time, and i should accept things as they are and not as i want them to be otherwise i get thrown out.

The most repellent thing I hated about the JWs was their hang up about titles and labels. This I found to be most in opposition to Christ and his ministry. They were always denouncing the RC church but I always felt they were emulating them in some way.

blondie posted a link to a short bio on the gb members and i noticed something i hadnt seen before.

these guys all have to be of the 'annointed' but jws say the calling to be of this class ended in 1935. whats with these very young new members?.

guy pierce-- 1934-- less than a year old- infant baptism?.

This makes me laugh. Many years ago when I was new I asked one of the "anointed" (in my ignorance) if it could be possible for me to be one of the anointed. Well...this person jumped all over me to show me how wrong it would be for me to ever think I could be. After all, I wasn't involved in the early work, struggle (whatever) etc.etc. I really wasn't being presumptuous, I was just asking a question.

Precident for elders to have two sets of rules. One for us and one for them

i was thinking about this for some reason this morning.

it seems that elders or elders' family are able to get away with quite a bit, while those who aren't are hung.

so how is that any different then things in the ot?.

I have always had a problem with the fact that god appears to BE partial! It used to make me sick reading the revelation book and studying about the bride of christ and all that stuff about new and old jerusalem, ad nauseam. Why tell us all about this and rub it in our face! Maybe this shouldn't have bothered me but it did. I used to say that this was one wedding I was certainly not going to be invited to!

I agree with you. It would make us look crazier than the JWs. Besides, people in general are not interested in religion and they absolutely hate being called on at their doors. What I do believe is more useful is somebody leaving something on the cars parked at assembly hall parking lots. At least then you are targeting JWs.

I know that you are hurting now but it will pass. I know because I have been through it. Pain so bad I could hardly stand it. While you are waiting for this miserable phase to pass, try to make the time count by doing something constructive. Whether it be a hobby, job, losing weight, etc. Do it. Keep yourself occupied. In time the pain will be over. You will be happy again.

i dont't know------------------ but it could be the sister of my old pioneer partner.

she got poped 7 times---------------------and keep caming back for more.. the problem was she liked to have sex.

since she was crazy, no one would marry her, and she could marry only in the lord, of course.

I don't know what the "record" is but there is somebody I know who has been in and out several times similar to the story you told.

I am of the opinion that a good portion of the married sisters would be disfellowshipped every other year or so if they did not have a marriage mate. I am only using sisters as an example because of the shortage of men in the "troof". They just cannot endure in a "celibate" state. (Don't bite me now, I know this doesn't apply to everybody).
