(James 1:19) Know this, my beloved brothers. Every man must be swift about hearing, slow about speaking, slow about wrath . . .

December KM
by blindersoff inyet another article on education.. also an article telling parents to make sure their children can explain convincingly their position on blood, being informed about their options, etc.
i'd hate to try to explain it as an adult.
difference in fractions vs main components, etc.. beating the drum on the rooming arrangement again.

Hi Blondie,
Always enjoy your input. I am amazed at your ability to pull info out of the hat on short notice. Wondering how you get your magazines.

Blatantly deceitful use of secular sources
by AuldSoul ini am looking good repository of instances where the watchtower or awake!
have quoted secular sources in such a way to make it appear the source supports their argument when it is blatantly obvious that the secular source disagreed with them.
if it doesn't exist, i am about to make one.

Has anyone been able to print the info from the Imp Bible Dic at the referenced link above. I can get it to print all of that section in the Dic EXCEPT the very quote in question. I would really like to have this quote on file directly from the Dic. This is so blatant that surely even some JW's could see through it.

This concerns an ' 03 Topic about ex-elders and should they apologize
by juni ina poster on this site was kind to direct me to an ' 03 topic for discussion that dealt with the question whether ex-elders who were on a jc should feel responsible for the hurt and damage to families that suffered df in their family and therefore seek these ones out and apologize.. some felt that these elders were only following what they felt was expected of them and others felt it was a good idea.. how do posters here who were former elders on jc feel about this now?
thank you to all for your input.
juni.

I have served on several to many JC's. I can say that we were guided more by what the GB said than what the Bible said. At the elders schools they always harped on looking up the WTS instructions on how to handle things as many elders were not following such. There was not much room for common sense. Mainly---what are the rules. That is why the secret elders manual is necessary The emphasis was on 'keeping the cong clean' more than helping the person. So, yes I feel badly for some of the decisions I shared in. I think some were made too hastily However, time that has passed & distance make it impractical to go back & reopen anything with these ones. The best I can hope for is that I may have helped someone not want to come back. At least I can say that I was never rude or unkind to the victim. I never , ever , liked the judicial aspect of being an elder. I never felt comfortable trying to run peoples lives. The groveling reinstatement process really irritates me.

they just called on me
by pc inan older woman and a younger woman with a baby in a stoller knocked on my door.
my house is so decorated with spider webs, pumpkins, skulls, gravestones, etc.
when i opened the door the crawling hand and candy dishes started thier seperate sounds and music, i just started to laugh.. she didn't introduce herself as one of jehovah's witnesses, she said she was doing volunteer work.

Noah the preacher
by TheListener inthis whole noah was a preacher of the last days things has me really irked.
i just don't see noah as a preacher, in the sense the society is using it, supported by the bible.. here are my thoughts, yes, they're not scholarly, but they represent how i feel.
feel free to comment in agreement or disagreement or possible sharing some more scholarly information.. genesis 6: 13, 18 and 7:1 clearly show that jehovah had already chosen noah and his family.

the Lord has granted a place of repentance to all who would be converted to Him. Noah preached repentance, and as many as listened to him were saved
As was pointred out already, Jehovah had already chosen Noah & his family to be saved. It had nothing to do with their listening to them.
I checked several translations & they all agree with the Interlinear & y'alls comments about them not knowing rather than ignoring Noah.
It is amazing how little of what we were taught actually has the backing of the Bible.
