is this really a neutral text?
The author, Jan Groenveld, is a former member of both the Mormons and JWs, so this would have been written with them specifically in mind. For that reason alone, I would be quite hesitant to pass this article on to a JW. All they have to do is Google the author, and then they have an instant excuse not to consider the information.
It may be better to show them an article like this: www.exitsupportnetwork.com/artcls/lifton.htm - which contains similar information but with a completely different organization in mind (World Wide Church of God). They may be more inclined to examine the control tactics and see them in a negative light simply because another organization is doing it. But they won't be able to help noticing the similarities with their own. It's something of a dilemma - either the JWs are doing something bad, or another organization is doing something good. Either is unacceptable.
