Good point about the "blessing" thing. Presumably there's going to be an awful lot of JWs destroyed at Armageddon on the grounds that they didn't really obey of their own free will but were brought in by God just to bless someone else.

Contradictory beliefs and faulty reasoning re. Jehovah 'blessing' the work
by Simon inyou will hear jws coming out with two things that are completely contradictory which they take to both prove the same thing.. 1. they have massive growth and that proves that jehovah is blessing the work they do.
2. they are not as large as the catholic church which proves that they are the 'narrow path' leading to salvation.
so, having a lot of followers and also not having a lot of followers are both proof that you are the one and true religion.. hmmn, ok ... but there is more.. think about what they believe regarding #1 above ... that growth is evidence that jehovah is blessing their work.. how does that work exactly?.

I was told off twice for what I wore to Bethel....so the Hell with them!
by Witness 007 inthe first time i went to australia bethel during a holiday, we pioneer boys put on our best "going out" clothes, no ties just very smart, well groomed and neat.
the sister we stayed with said: "oh no you can't wear those clothes, you have to dress in meeting clothes!
" so we did, realizing we had shamed ourselves and our god.

people resurrected not able to marry
by jennybear incan someone provide the societys view on whether resurrected are not able to marry.
it has been over 10 years since i was active and i at the time if i remember correctly the society said they would not.
if anyone knows whether they flip floped on this either would be great.

What, and give them some way to be absolutely SURE that they are dressed properly? It's all about the fear and uncertainty.

I don't have any amazing insights, but it's worth pointing out that right after Jacob struggled with this "angel" (whoever he was), his name was changed to Israel which means "he struggles with God".

That's what I thought it sounded like too. But it's actually Latin. The words resembling "Praise Jehovah" are "Ecce homo". The intro goes "Ecce homo qui est faba" (Behold the man who is a bean), and then at the end it's "Vale homo qui est faba" (Farewell to the man who is a bean).

Noah and the flood
by Iwonder17 inok, so i have been watching a show on the discovery channel about noah and it got me thinking....let's say that the whole world was covered in a floor about 6000 years ago.
is it even possible to have the earth populate itself in just 6000 years?
also, and more interesting, how can all of the different breads of animals get to all of the contenants and repopulate themselves in that short amount of time as well???
