my boyfriend and i have been together for almost 2 years now and living together for one.
our relationship couldn't be better, we love each other more than anything, and are supportive of each other in every way.
both of us are convinced that we are a perfect fit for each other, and we are basically on the same page about everything, until about 2 weeks ago that is.
Is he a baptised jw?
If so, it may not be guilt that he is feeling, but rather, fear of disfellowshipping, shunning, and losing ones family.
If not, then he needs to be shown the "truth" about the society and maybe then he won't feel so guilty about not listening to their unreasonable rules.

i know of people that never tried to get ahead or prosper themselves because they were witnesses.
never bought a house or a brand new car because they would rather rent and drive around in a jalopy that would break down.
Your right! Blaming a company for all of your problems isn't the answer.
However... that religion is a very abusive one. And it may take years to recover from abuse. It's very hard to recover from losing everyone on the face of the earth that you ever knew. For me, it was like recovering from a death of 100 people that were very close to me. Also, the mentally ill and abusive/addictive people are attracted to that religion (among other people) because it gives them a sense of control over their life. When these people that you talk about are ready to move on with their life, I'm sure they will suprise us all. Some people are just late bloomers! Everyone matures and relates to experiences differently. Hopefully, these people will one day be able to get it together and be happy, productive members of society.

I'm disfellowshipped, I would never shun anyone. It is a cruel practice to treat someone as if they are nothing, not even worth kindness!? That's too bad that you aren't feeling well, I hope it's not too serious and that you get yourself feeling better really soon.

Never! I was raised in it and I whole heartedly believed what I was told. Trouble was... they had a hard time convincing my adult mind that what they were doing was right.
i was just talking to my lady about a class she's taking.
i can't remember what class it is (yeah, i'm a super good boyfriend... it's just that she's always talking...), but they were talking about the relationship language has to cognitive thinking abilities.
i think this is extremely interesting which she believes would make me an "unbelievably boring" guy, but anyway...

my daughter is at her dad's house 50% of the time and he along with his family have been indoctrinating her since birth.
up until recently she has always said she is a jehovah's witness.
i have been reasoning with her in the past 6 months to a year (i used to take the path of least agression but final decided i need to combat some of their teachings if she is to think for herself).

hey all ive been kinda floundering for a bit but am back again.. life seems to sometimes take us down new and unexpected roads.

Vegas sounds fun, but if I got a vacation I would probably want to go to Cali. instead. We'll see. I was invited to a gathering via pm, but it was about 5 hours away from me. Maybe some other ones will come up in the future. In the mean time I'll just keep visiting my LIBRARY! euphemism HaHa
since the jw religion is sooooo restrictive, it is good to think about just how wacky this cult is.....for example, you can get counseled for buying a 2 door car as opposed to a "pioneer" car (4 door).
My best friend and I would always sit next to each other for field service meetings and they would purposely seperate us into different groups so that we wouldn't have any fun.
Maybe that mail box we knocked over showed that we were too worldly?
