Should Intelligent Design be taught in schools?
by AlmostAtheist inkansas is holding a debate to decide.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/education/05/02/life.evolution.reut/index.html.
topeka, kansas (reuters) -- evolution is going on trial in kansas.. eighty years after a famed courtroom battle in tennessee pitted religious beliefs about the origins of life against the theories of british scientist charles darwin, kansas is holding its own hearings on what school children should be taught about how life on earth began.. the kansas board of education has scheduled six days of courtroom-style hearings to begin thursday in topeka.

Of course it should be taught! It's scientific evidence! How can you teach science without teaching evolution?!!!! People are crazy.

Hi Chris, I hope I didn't give the impression that you were rascist. I only meant that I think you are on the recieving end of it. I wish you luck it's hard sticking out like a sour thumb. You feel all the eyes on you. I didn't make one single friend while living there and it's not because I didn't try. Just be yourself and enjoy the beautiful scenery in Mexico and maybe you'll meet some more modern liberal thinkers that don't care what you talk like or what you look like. Best Wishes

Jehover just doesn't like ANYTHING does he.
That's funny, anything that makes someone feel good, nope that's evil! lol Ok Mark, I see your point. It's kind of like comparing a herbalist m.d. and a oriental medicine doc. Both are very similar and can be intermixed but yet completly different careers. I agree.

by love11 ineveryone has their own idiosyncrises, mine is- .

I count...everything. Breaths, blinks, keystrokes, lines on the road, strawberries in a package, lines on a bedspread. Kinda weird, but I always have.
When I was little and we were at a public restroom, I had to count the tiles on the floor or I wouldn't be able to go. I still catch myself doing that from time to time.
fairchild- Why 12? Is it your lucky number? Sit down for this one- my birthday is 9/11. *gasp* Just one shy of 12 ain't bad. haha
IP- I wish that junk mail was never allowed. I can't stand seeing all of those e-mails and only a small hand full are people you actually know. hate that. But at least it's saving trees by not sending the junk mail to my address. yay

It sounds like you're a stranger in a strange land. But you know... come to think of it, American's in general do the same to hispanic people when they come to the US. The person with the spanish accent is probably not going to fair as well in the job market as a person who was born in the US.
I used to live in East Chicago. It was all hispanics or black, me and the politician's wife were the only white people in the neighborhood for blocks and blocks. They treated me like crap. They had the attitude, who do you think you are? Like just because you're white then you must be rich, stuck up, and conservative. It's too bad because the school system there is horrible. Most of the children hear English for the first time in kindergarden. They could be reading books in spanish yet because they didn't know english they would have low test scores. The government is paying top dollar for teachers to go into that neighborhood and help those kids because no one wants to do it. That no child left behind plan that Bush has is crap. The school was put on probation and told if they didn't show an improvement then they were going to replace all of the teachers. The school got wise to this. My daughter got an A+ her first semester their. However, the teacher told me in private that they are not allowed to give out any A's the first semester because they want to see an improvement. Like a B the first semester then an A the next semester. I was fuming. I told her, "You mean to tell me that my daughter rightfully got an A, but you're not going to give it to her because you need to show Bush that the school is making an improvement!!!!". She said you didn't hear it from me, and I wouldn't recommend talking to the principal about it because some other mom did that and they had to move because the kid was being harrassed so bad. Also, the politics there is crooked. After we left to move to Michigan, I heard about the fbi arresting alot of the politicians there in the Times.com.
Sorry I got a little off of the subject, but I just wanted to let you know that there is racism in all colors. It's funny how people just want to look at how some white can be racist but they don't want to see that it goes on in their own race. I married a mexican man and his mother secretly hates me. But you can still tell that she wished her son would have married a nice hispanic girl. Oh well... what are you going to do, I'll never be hispanic and I'm not going to feel ashamed that I'm white just because they have a problem with me. My suggestion to you is- go to your school and act like you don't notice everyone's racism. Act like you are loved by everyone, eventually they will see the real you and not be superficial about the color of your skin.

What Are Things You Get A "Kick" Out Of, Here????
by minimus in.
here's one thing i get a kick out at times--- it's when i see a new poster give "counsel" and advice as if they were still a jw elder or "eldress" or wannabe.
you know the authority types that genuinely believe they know it all and that we're all anxious to hear what wisdom might be imparted to us.

ew! can mold really grow in your body?? I am really allergic to mold!
Technically, it's incorrect to say mold (sorry, I slang talk alot and people misunderstand) , a better term for it is yeast!
So if you are severely allergic to mold like I am then you should avoid foods that help grow yeast in your body, like sugar. Also things like cheese, wine, beer, leftovers, mushrooms. Any thing that ferments, stuff like that. I went to have that pin prick test (another slang term because I don't know the correct name for the test) and it told me all the molds I was allergic to. So now the doctor is going to make up this serum. I have to have shots every week for the next three years. I guess they give you a little bit of what you're allergic to every week and gradually your body builds up and immune to it. But I'm not sure if I'm going to do it because every time I go I have to pay a co-pay of $10.00, so that's 40.00 a month. I think I'd rather just move where it's dry and not swampy like it is here.

Interior decorating is probably to Feng Shui as modeling is to martial arts.
I don't understand how feng shui wouldn't be like interior decorating. Both are manipulating your environment around you. By the way, have you taken any interior decorating courses? It's not what you think it is, all fluff and pretty pillows. There is a science to it and a tried and true method or set of rules. You need to learn drafting and the history of every period of human interiors. True, it's not exactly like interior decorating but it is very similar- both rearrange your interior environment. One does so by spirit filled reasons and the other is about how the brain reacts to certain colors and dimensions. It's more like comparing modeling to photography than modeling to martial arts. By the way, some interior decorators expand their business and specialize in feng shui. Also, my parents owned their own wallpaper removal business and I was always around decorating my entire life.

Coffee!!!!!!!!! Coffee used to give me migraines if I didn't have a steady supply always in my system. I used to have one cup in the morning and one occasionally in the afternoon. If I didn't have coffee for a day, I'd have a headache.
Now the only thing I drink is tea or water. I now have about a 1/2 to 3/4 of the headaches I used to have. But the first week off of coffee is probably the closest I've ever came to experience detox. It was hello!
