I was disfellowshipped. I spent the night at a worldly guys house. It sounds more exciting than it really was. We talked to all hours of the night. Then we decided to watch a movie and we fell asleep in front of the tv. We didn't even touch each other. But of course the elders just couldn't get it in their brains that you could spend the night at a "worldly guys" house without getting raped. So I was disfellowshipped for "having intercourse" which I never got.
That's how I knew that they weren't "guided" by J-god, because they would have known the truth of what happened that night. So about a few days after I was disfellowshipped, we had sex. I figured if I'm going to be disfellowshipped for it, I might as well do it. But it all worked out for the best. Thank god the elders pushed me into having sex!!! Isn't that ironic!

I am new here, former JW left years ago.
by out of the box ini want to discuss my experiences with the witnesses.
how it began: i was recruited during the time i was escaping from a violent husband to a shelter.
a witness came to my door as i was preparing to move during the day without him knowing (while he was at work).

My knee hurts when I *don't* run.

i like to run, but if i ever go a week or more without running my left knee starts getting very sore.
once i go out an run again the pain will go away so long as i keep running every other day.. anyone have any idea why this would be?

I was disfellowshipped for something I didn't do. The elders wouldn't believe me. That is how I knew that god was not backing these elders because god knew the truth of what happened and he would tell the elders that in some way so that I wouldn't be disfellowshipped.
Obviously, you have alot to learn about how the elders REALLY come to their decisions. So I'll forgive you for your ignorance. But one day, you may know, then you'll be sitting on the other side of the fence and coming to the same conclusion I have.

Would you help a dub?
by greendawn inif a dub needed your help as in a medical emergency or in getting employment/job contract or in getting your support in a dispute with someone on a non religious issue or in some other way such as in a car break down would you help them?

Yes I would.
However if I owned my own business and they wanted a job, I would pick someone else for that position. I haven't worked this hard to have my own business to have MY employee treat me like an ass. So I wouldn't put up with that. But I would help with any of the other situations.
Except helping someone who's car is broken down, because I know nothing about cars.

here's a nice little side benefit of being raised a jw then leaving; having to search the obituaries of the local paper once a month hoping that your dad's name does not turn up.
it's doubtful that any of my "family" would even let me know, so, i know it's morbid, but i look in the local paper each month and hope that i don't see his name.... j

It's funny how they skate around all of the scriptures about love and forgivness, yet won't budge an inch for anyone's elses mistakes. They pick and choose what fits right at the time for their agenda. But apparently, it's more important to control who everyone has sex with than to have love. But wait.....isn't god love?

Not recongnizing family
by damselfly ini have been out if the jw's since i was 18 and i moved clear across the country.
i moved back into my hometown around 3 years later, and promptly got kicked when i was down by the jc ( who lied about their reasoning.. but that is a different thread entirely!!!!).
so needless to say i no longer have a family of any kind.last night i was in the grocery store and noticed that a woman was passing by with her cart and sort of half smiling / half sad looking at me.
