Can God see the future?
no.
the future doesn't exist.

i've been out a while, but i remember thinking about this as a teenager and being confused, (my mother told me i must be posessed by demons to think such things and so never offered me an explanation).
what do the jws say about it.
if jehovah can see into the future, he would've known what a mess he was going to make of creation so he would've decided against it before he even thought of it.. based on the theory that he went ahead and created everything anyway, that must mean he can't see into the future.. i also seem to remember that god doesn't interfere with man, because we have free will, so all our actions are down to us and in no way "steered" or "influenced" by god.. so how can he make predictions about the future, i.e.
Can God see the future?
no.

jehovah,.
it has been quite some time since i have written you a letter.
the reason is complicated, and is much more than just one.
a happy day was the day that i consciously decided to redefine "YHWH".
i couldn't take the gag reflex that was associated with the hebrew mythologies anymore, when there was also a part of me that was fascinated by them.
now, for me, YHWH = the mirror of the cosmos in my eye(s). and i hope i'll be praising jah until the day my candle flickers out. it makes reading leviticus easier too, ;)
long live the super man & antichrist,

ps: WORD-up infamous!

howard gardner, a professor of education at harvard university, is renowned for laying out the theory of multiple intelligences (mi), which argues that the customary views of intelligence are too narrow.
whilst traditional iq tests measure verbal and mathematical skills, mi theory maintains that humans have multiple intelligences.. included in these are spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic (movement), interpersonal skills, intrapersonal and naturalist (understanding and classifying objects in nature).
so whilst some may not be to 'hot' on mathematics they may be great musicians or wonderful at understanding human beings.
It seems to me people get "talents" mixed up with "intelligence."
...or that different talents are systemic to different intelligences. tetra (of the "good at hacky sack" class)
lets see they slaughtered the indians that live on this land, wiped out the buffalo which starved many to death, put them on reservations, reduced many of them to poverty.. and now the us government has the biggest military in the world that cost its tax payers plenty and no government health care.
kind of makes you wonder if freedom is just a 4 letter word with dom added on.. not only that but they have spent trillions$$ on weapons of mass destruction, they have the biggest stock pile of nuclear weapons that can kill all life on earth several times over.
and if i refuse to pay my taxes because i don't like the government is wasting so much money on the military, i will get thrown in prision, and if they want to they can use the patriot act to torture me, refuse me a fair trial.
I'm just curious as to why an intelligent and enlightened intellectual as himself hasn't fled this evil, backwards, and totalitarian regime.
because stepping out of babylon isn't a geographical move. it's an exodus of the mind. a psychological trip.
babylon vibe is everywhere you go on earth. the promised land isn't anywhere else than in the craniums of individuals. running away isn't going to do anyone much positive.
thanks for the suggestion though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahatma_Gandhi
He was the pioneer of Satyagraha — the resistance of tyranny through mass civil disobedience, firmly founded upon ahimsa or total non-violence —
Gandhi famously led Indians in the disobedience of the salt tax on the 400 kilometre (248 miles) Dandi Salt March in 1930, and in an open call for the British to Quit India in 1942. He was imprisoned for many years on numerous occasions in both South Africa and India.
gandhi, too, was probably called a "whiner" by his detractors as he sat somewhere fasting and talking about how things must change.
again, i do not see things as really having changed much for people who would like to go from "whinning" to action. jail time hangs like a dark could of apathy.
who would want to be some other prisoner's girlfriend because his philosophy on life was acted on? not many i know of.

my family has had an interesting evolution over the past few years of being exjws.. as jws, it didn't even occur to us to use profanity or vulgar language.
jehovah's witnesses don't speak that way - at least that's how i was brainwashed to believe - although i knew plenty of jws who do.. once we started experiencing the real world, it no longer seemed like such a crime (or sin, to be more precise) to say the occasional word that might get *bleeped* on tv.. after a while though, it grew old.
i started to feel that it wasn't my nature to talk that way, and using that language was not conducive to who i wanted to be as person and a professional.
hi scully,
So, how does one go about teaching a teenager that Freedom of Speech has limits?
society will teach them that soon enough. but ya, you might as well burst their bubble. it'll be easier on them.
as far as how to go about it? lol, good luck. ;)

interesting topic frankie. and i agree with your summation. sort of depressing, but true enough. i live in the 51st state, canada, and there isn't much difference up here.
people who want change, and are not "spineless" tend to be labeled as criminal terrorists and locked away, while the rest of the crowd who was apathetically shouting "get up and do something! this is democracy" from their SUV windows applaud the fine work of their religion "government".
people seem to have lost sight that they have changed from h.sapiens to h.conumerinsis. human nature now equals production and consumtion, and so the way of life is not questioned by the droves of hive minds. the "voters". riiiiiiight.
further on one of nathan natas' recent thoughts:
I suggest you move to the country that meets your ideals.
you know nathan, i agree with you. i would if i could. a friend and i were talking yesterday about the fact that because we were born on a certain piece of land, we've been basically forced to live with its inhabitants even if they really don't share many key opinions about the world and human life with us. we can go visit other places, but unless one has a lot of money, moving somewhere else is quite difficult. sort of like being born a catholic, or a JW, and having to leave everything so that you can breathe a little more freely (in terms of cultural liberation).
in addition, i find it entertaining that amsterdam is going to be under 3m water because of big industry eventually.
dumb apes raping smart apes because they believe in brute force. passive resistance is viewed as a weakness by these f*ck-heads.
apart from that, how many "countries" on earth meet my "ideals" right now? basically none. left slaving away in a crowd of capatalists, and i'm 30 with no real choice in the matter.
trust me, i would work actively for change if it wouldn't land me in jail. the next thing i know, several big apes, dressed in blue, with guns on their hips and collapsible batons in hand are at my front door ready to file me away with murderers and rapists because i no longer believe in their religion of Having. i mean, i could go through the "officially" set up routes for making change if it weren't a TOTAL JOKE.
a vote is not a choice. a vote is a placebo.

i posted a thread yesterday about evolution and population since the flood, http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/134218/1.ashx and there were some arguments from the point of view of jw's that would be hard to counter....for me anyway.
but it raised some other questions that i'd like some feedback on.. namely, is it just me who thinks it's just ridiculous that noah could've collected all the animals from across the globe and got them on the ark?.
according to the united nations global biodiversity assesment, there are an estimated 1.75 million species on the planet.
hi adolfius!
have you ever checked out talk origin's stuff on the flood? if you haven't, i bet you'll enjoy!
