If I get "activated" again, maybe he won't let me see it happen.

Will Jehovah...
by watson inwhen jehovah brings armageddon, will he let me live long enough to witness the deaths of my children and grand children because they didn't believe in him?
.
since i've faded and i don't promote worshiping him anymore, i am just wondering.. at least i'd know for sure what kind of god he is?.

Young JW's attitudes
by Phizzy ini met an old friend last evening, a great guy, an xjw for longer than me.. during a conversation about our experiences since fading (neither of us are da'd or anything) we got to talking about the young jw's.. his wife is still in, and he has two lovely daughters who he is trying to teach the art of critical thinking so that they can make the right choice in the future.. what worries him though is that he is convinced almost all young jw's do not give a "proverbial" if it is the truth or not, they simply wish to remain in it because of the social aspects, loads of friends and activities that they feel safe partaking in etc etc.. so how do you convince these young people that they would have a better life if they left ?.
they see it as losing all their friends, and being alone and trying to build new relationships, which is mostly true.. how do we convince them to make the leap ?.
should they ?.

I like the idea of teaching them to be able to think critically. Other than that, it's hard to convince them to leave. They have to figure it out themselves.
After all, who's to say they would have a "better" life outside the Org. I'd hate to be responsible for convincing someone to do something and find out they were miserable.
One of the things that helped me fade was realizing that most attending were there because of the social support system.

Life of Brian
by berrygerry ini was a younger dub at the time of this release, and stopped watching this movie near its beginning, when john cleese was stoned with the huge rock for saying jehovah.. this was despite having been (and continuing to be) a major john cleese (and monty python) fan.. any fans of this film?.

Wow, Newboy, my family attended the exact conventions, with the exception that they were at NYC in '50, as well. My first was 58 NYC. Just a baby, so no recollection. First memories of "Super Conventions" come from the Rose Bowl, '63. Hot and long. -

GOODBYE my oldest and dearest (JW) FRIEND
by Terry inin my book, i wept by the rivers of babylon, i described the process of having a friend, johnny santa cruz, use our friendship as a platform for converting me to a jehovah's witness.. that friendship cost me decades of my life in bondage to a cult.. the friendship was real and johnny and i bonded for life.
but, the religion eventually turned him into a stone silence toward me--his oldest friend.
now he is dead and the imaginary reunion and meeting of the minds is no longer a possibility.. this makes his passing a double tragedy.. his memories were my memories.

Every year for about 10 years after that, we all thought, "we are just that much closer to the great tribulation. Stay determined! To the end!" Then things like "generations" started changing.... -
