this might be old hat to those of you with more experience in the wts/witness life, but it struck me as very odd, perhaps even a bit sinister.

Let's be honest would YOU buy a book that looks like a JW publication????????? - covered in single gloss with one word on the spine???? I have just been given a copy of 'CREATION' by a Witness at my door. Would you buy that and rush to read it? I think not!!!

Facial hair is a danger for witnesses because it increases the chances of being caught at the door by householders and getting a good slapping!
for the past year, i have been observing the jw kids that i know.
i am in a unique situation as i work at the local high school, therefore see many of them on a daily basis.
let me tell you, 80% of them are totally undistinguishable as jws.
It has been so good to read all this. When I drive to church each sunday morning, I pass an Assembly Hall and see loads of seemingly 'normal' teenagers dressed in quite unnatural attire. I constantly ask "why" but hopefully for their sake they are just biding time!!!

i was surprised to discover how my mother felt about the passing of the pope.
she mentioned even though he is different (regarding religion) he is still human and death is always something painful.
i overheard her discussion with my grandfather and she said he did good things and jehovah can grant him resurrection.
How sad that we judge this man by his religious stance. Every human being has the image of God stamped all over them.
There is something of Christ in EVERYONE - our job is to find it!

Where do I begin? Firstly don't allow the WTBTS's taeching on hellfire or the trinity affect you going to a God loving church! That is the baggage you need to drop because it is Watchtower and not necessarily biblical!
TALK TALK TALK to your Wife - please reach some agreement together. And YES I do believe in the power of prayer : talk to God about your situation and see what happens! Pray that the falsehood of this deceptive organisation will become plainly obvious to her.
In the meantime grin & bear it praying constantly that the Spirit of God will cause blind eyes to see!

Just a very quick one. I have studied world religions at degree level and the JW's till I'm blue in the face. I have arrived along with countless scholars at the following conclusion...
An unbiased & impartial reading of the New Testament corpus alone will present you with a dilemma. Either Jesus was a mad man (which He clearly wasn't!) or He was God incarnate. A similar stance will be discovered with The Holy Spirit and the Father.
The Trinity, whilst totally incomprehensible IS a biblical teaching. I always encourage every JW to read the NT with their Watchtower spectacles off!
