  JW Mother Mourns Pope's Death

  i was surprised to discover how my mother felt about the passing of the pope.

  she mentioned even though he is different (regarding religion) he is still human and death is always something painful.

  i overheard her discussion with my grandfather and she said he did good things and jehovah can grant him resurrection.

  If the governing body members all had children, would they deny them blood?

  if they any of them had or have children that needed a blood transfusion to live, i wonder if they would deny their children blood and watch them die for the watchtower society?.

  i'm still technically an unbaptised publisher... i'm glad i came to my recent revelations before baptism.

  anyway, basically i was stumbled by recent events in our hall... a respected pioneer sister tried to seduce my sister-in-law's husband.

  and when that didn't work she went after another friend's husband.

  What a situation!!!

  Where do I begin? Firstly don't allow the WTBTS's taeching on hellfire or the trinity affect you going to a God loving church! That is the baggage you need to drop because it is Watchtower and not necessarily biblical!

  TALK TALK TALK to your Wife - please reach some agreement together. And YES I do believe in the power of prayer : talk to God about your situation and see what happens! Pray that the falsehood of this deceptive organisation will become plainly obvious to her.

  In the meantime grin & bear it praying constantly that the Spirit of God will cause blind eyes to see!

  That would be my first step!

  can i get a thorough explanation regarding the jehovah's witness's befief on the deity of christ.

  is he god?

  Just a very quick one. I have studied world religions at degree level and the JW's till I'm blue in the face. I have arrived along with countless scholars at the following conclusion...

  An unbiased & impartial reading of the New Testament corpus alone will present you with a dilemma. Either Jesus was a mad man (which He clearly wasn't!) or He was God incarnate. A similar stance will be discovered with The Holy Spirit and the Father.

  The Trinity, whilst totally incomprehensible IS a biblical teaching. I always encourage every JW to read the NT with their Watchtower spectacles off!

  A 1914 generation question

  i was around in 1995, barely, but i dont remember any talks or articles where the new light about the generation of 1914. did they change w/o coming right out and saying so,or was there a talk.

  especially in regards to the mission statement or whatever in the awake, did they make an announcement or did they just hope no one would notice?

  i just cant believe that there wasnt a mass exodus after that, my family never mentioned the change to me, i didnt even know til years later on this site.

  A couple of years ago I wrote to the WTS in London. I wrote in with a "question from a reader" about the change in wording at the front of the mag and asked if they could publish it in an edition of "Awake" - I must have been in cloud cukoo land!!!

  I heard nothing for ages and then one Saturday morning was greeted by 2 suited witnesses who greeted me by name and said they were from the Watchtower. I dutifully invited them in and spoke at length about 1914 eventually leading on to show them the change in wording.

  "Oh do you know I have never noticed that said one of them to me. We will do some home work and get back to you!" - They never did!

  No I was told recently by a Witness that they don't use it because of new light!!!

  Actually it's because it mentions the 1914 date which is a bit of an embarrassment now!
