i will try to make this quick...... .

i have been with this wonderfull woman in a "relationship" for almost one year now (ive known her for 3 years).

she is jw and obviously i'm not, our relationship has gone almost exactly like many of the ones discribed here, hiding from parents, familly, church, etc.

You don't know me and I don't know you, but before you stop reading, I can assure you that I am not under any demonic influences, so you can read this with confidence. If you truly love your guy then embark on a journey with him to find out the real truth. Now, ask yourself this question...

If the Watchtower Society has nothing to hide, then there would be no problem in asking one or two questions about them, right? After all, they would be able to answer them quite easily, wouldn't they?

OK, so before you dismiss evidence that proves the organisation is not the sole channel for God on earth, remember... it can do no harm to look and see.

Please just take a little time to ask all those niggly questions that you have inside. Talk about it with your man and please don't throw your relationship with him away. God would not want you to do this.

Wow, that's one hell of a covert Op. What's next? Crawling about in lagoons in frogsuits. Piloting helicopters on to navy vessels in the Gulf. They could sport caribou furs, snowshoes and do the Inuit run. Or even, a trip into orbit with a wee spacewalk to boot. Can't have those astronauts perishing up there while the stinky little earth burns up in the 'Geddon!

If you were God ,The Creator of all things, how would you handle rebellion?

so many times we second guess god or our conception of him and we discuss why this or that does not make sense or could not be, or is not fair.. then how would you if you were god (with unlimited power) handle rebellion?

This is a fundemental problem with the Judaeo/Christian creation story. This God who himself is said to be able to do no evil, creates beings who can.

Peacefulpete, you've got it. A perfect God cannot create beings that can "make themselves" imperfect, for a perfect creation would act perfectly in a impeccably perfect manner ALWAYS and NEVER make a mistake. That's perfection. How could the perfect Satan suddenly fail? How could a perfect Adam and Eve suddenly fail also? This whole damn tale doesn't make any sense from the very beginning.

I think we should go back to the good old days, gather all those bibles up and have ourselves a barbecue.

The Pope is NOT the voice of God on Earth

i have always been a little bit puzzled by jws loudly proclaiming that the pope is not the "voice of god on earth", and turning around and vernerating the watchtower as "the voice of god on earth.".

i have repeatedly told jws to apply the same standard you do against the pope to the watchtower and you will be more than a bit dissapointed.

the best answer i could ever get was, "well that's different".. can any exjws explain this?

I think it goes like this:

We here humble souls at the WTBTS say we are the Jehove's sole channel on earth.

The WTBTS has not ever lied, does not ever lie and will not ever lie. We simply cannot tell a lie. Lahdedahdedah.

Therefore, the earth is a cube and we are Jehovymoby's sole channel on earth.

As for that Pope fella. He is evil, wicked beyond compare. Entertain him not me hearties, for his work is the DEVIL's hahahahahahaha, he will burn he will burn.

What happens after.......

so i'm interested for all you folks that have come out of the watch tower society, are any of you still religious, believe in god or the bible?

interestingly enough, i picked up a origianl copy of "studies in the scriptures" published 1915 with reprinted tracts in the back that talk about armegedon in 1914. big funny!

i keep it handy near the front door.

I remember when I came out of the brainwashing those MF's had me under. It was like wakening up from a very muddy dream. You know, the ones where dreamworld and reality merge for a LONG time before you finally reach the surface and escape into consciousness. When I first realised the truth about the "truth" my first reaction was to abandon everything. No beliefs of any kind...I was too messed up.

But now time has passed, I'm boiling it down to two possibilities.

1) God exists. He used evolution as a means to create. He is not loving. He is not just. He is not perfect. He messed it all up. He is an egomaniac. He doesn't love his creation. The future is uncertain.

OR

2) Life arrived on earth from outer space, planted by extra-terrestrials scientists. Life evolved. We are currently living in their experiment. They are trying to find out more about their own evolution by studying it on earth. The origin of these ET's are unknown. The future is probably eternal death.

I'm not sure about my second theory...but it goes something like that!

Oh, anything that demands you put faith in something uncertain neccesitates religion. So, I guess from that viewpoint, we are all religious. However, I consider the bible mainly as a book of fairytales.

All this flip-flopping just proves yet again that the WTS has no idea what it believes. Their inconsistencies are not what one would expect of those who claim to represent the one and only true religion and a consistent God. They make me so mad. Those lying, cheating, egoistic hypocrites are gonna get what's coming to them. I hate them so much I can't put it into words; how much they ruined so many lives including my own. Good work Mac. Just shows how a little research is all that's neede to expose these vermin for what they really are.

Science is a threat to religion because science deals in provable facts. Religion deals in unprovable beliefs.

i am hoping there are others of you that have the same feelings as my self and can help me to move on from them!.

currently i am in therapy due to different things that have happened in my life (not just to do with the witnesses!!

) and i thought it would be good to share my last session with you.. as a jw you are given your goal in life- your point.

Becks, I feel ya. I recently got out of hospital with severe depression. It gets better, but very slowly. I have always asked myself the same question and I think I'm slowly coming to realise that there is no point. There is no point in anything. But, do you know what? That for me is the beauty of life. There doesn't need to be a point. Live every moment as if it were your last. You will see it is not the destination that is important...it's the journey. Just feel those little things...sunlight on your face, wind in your hair, a smile from a friend...or a tear. These are the important things. Live in the moment, we're all on this journey together.

all i was trying to do was find some mutual respect for my decision but she started smacking, punching, pushing me.

soon after, she threw the biggest tantrum and it disgusted me to see her acting in such a manner.

I was never in the same position as yourself. My family was never raised JW style. However, when I began my bible study I remember thinking how my family were going to die at armageddon. Feelings ranged from sad, paranoid to angry that they were so selfish as not to study with me and save themselves.

They never changed, they never apologised...just lived their lives as normal outside of the organisation. Eventually those feelings I had about them faded. It took a long time and many an argument. But in the end I saw their point of view. It's important that you don't over-react to her over-reaction. Be cool, be upbeat, positive...and have purpose. Show her you have a goal and that you are happy. She may never agree with you but in the end she'll get over it and calm down. Good luck.
